Red Green, is that you?
(@Eric1955 might very well be the only one who gets that. :hilarious: )

I found that show hilarious! :joyfull: One of our PBS stations here (actually, Southern N.H.) used to broadcast that show and I had more laughs over the silliness! I used to love Red Green's "masterpieces" with duct tape--especially the creative machines he'd create with it. I miss that show. :(

It depends on how sunny and how hot it is. I mix 5 regular Lipton tea bags with 3 orange lipton tea bags. My container is a gallon and after 4 hours in the sun, its looking pretty good. Sometimes I go an extra hour or two, depending on how dark it looks....

Thank you. I really didn't have a clue, but I figured it probably took a long time. So, I assume that even after 4 hours, it's not really hot, maybe just warm from being out in the sun? (I have so many questions . .. )

Please take a minute, or maybe five, to read my introduction, would like to share what it was like to grow up in rural Indiana, from 1948 onward, I don't want history lost. thanks so much for the welcome, I hope with this post , about my life , can help you connect with your much older relatives.

Thank you. I'll bet rural Indiana was a fascinating place. Will look forward in the future, to reading a bit about some of your remembrances. (With regard to your comment about much older relatives, at least in my family, most have passed away.) The rest of us are all around the mid-life years.

Is sweet tea as popular in Florida as it is in neighboring states?
It's not so much that unsweet tea isn't available, but, not in your standard places. If there is tea in a vending machine it will be sweet or flavored with lemon, raspberry, etc. If I wanted lemonade I would buy lemonade. I buy tea because I like the taste of tea. Unsweet is harder to find in stores and mega-stores even, but, I have noticed lately that more are starting to carry small amounts of it. If you go to Disney it is powdered or mixed at the vending point. Brewed tea is the only really acceptable form for me. No flavors, no artificial sweeteners, just plain tea over ice. That's another of my pet peeves. I order Iced Tea and they come over with a glass of tea with a couple of small pieces of ice in it. I ordered Iced Tea not room temperature Tea. Tea is 99.9999% water anyway, it's not going to dilute it anymore then it already is. What's so hard to understand about ICED TEA. OK, I took my meds and I'm feeling better now. Carry on.

I was in elementary school during the bellbottom days. I remember playing on the swingset and when you really got going and stuck your legs out going forward, the pant legs would fill with air. :geek:
I was a teen during the era of penny loafers, Ivy league pegged pants and bleeding madras shirts. Bell Bottoms thankfully came out when I was in the service. By the time I got out, the fad was starting to fade, but, I did own a few pair of flares. I liked those much better then bell bottoms. We still had wide collared shirts and used to tie our ties straight down, no regular knot. It was actually tied the same way, but instead of tucking the top layer of the tie through the knot, you just let it drop straight down so that it looked more like an ascot then a tie. I swear give me back almost every decade except the 1970's. Between that and Disco, I hate to even think back to it.
