For Earth Day, I climbed up a steep trail in the woods. I figured that with an elevation gain of only about 120 feet up, that wouldn't matter too much, even if the trail was listed as "steep" (by the conservation land trustees).

I was kinda wrong -- it was STEEP! Ha! :hilarious: Never again -- I went down via a longer, easier graded trail. :p

I am so very sorry. I would politely tell your mil to shove it and explain you couldn't get shoes because of the lockdowns if she dares to say anything. As for your dh MEN:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: mid sized frying pan on it's way. Just a thought can you order the next size up of the same shoe and get them before A goes next week?
He's very...picky about the way things fit. He has to be able to try them on and walk around in them. And I would totally just order a size up, IF I knew for sure that he only needs one size up. Addidas does weird sizing...they have in-between sizing, so I'm not really sure what size I should be getting if I order what he has now. He's obviously hitting a growth spurt, because he's suddenly taller than me. If I get one size up, will that be enough?

We have a foot measurer thing like they have in shoe stores. This lets me buy shoes online for the kids. I rarely have fit issues.

Ugh. Can you order stuff online there? We started doing that for B because he HATES shops of any kind. We just buy stuff and if it doesn't work, we return it (usually Amazon, sometimes other stores).
You can order stuff online, but it has been taking a lot longer for things to be delivered lately, because everyone is ordering things online since the stores have all been closed. Most webshops had a one day delivery guarantee before covid...like, for where I work, if you order before 10:30 pm, you get it the next day. (advantage of a small country!) But most can't do that now because online sales have skyrocketed since covid started. So it might take a week to get here now. The only way to get him new shoes for sure by the time he goes to Oma and Opa's is to make an appointment and get them in the store. So that's what we'll do. If we can't find anything or they won't let us make an appointment for 2 people, then we will just have to tell oma that we have to wait until next week when you don't need appointments anymore.

That sounds like my DD and SIL started biking. They have had some good flat trails to ride in. But, a few were so steep that it about did them in.🤣

Well, the jokes really on me, because I've seen photos of the conservation land Trustees, and they look like a bunch of old biddies. So I figured that "steep " to them was probably a walk in the park . . . :p Little did I know that the ol' gals could climb up that ascent?! :hilarious: (Or maybe they paid some guys who actually did the mapping, to rate the various trails.) ;)

I learned to do my own nails
I went for a manicure 1x in my life because my girlfriend at the time said I needed one. I'm a guy and I then later bought at the dollar store a cuticle thing to remove and shape your cuticles . I now know how to keep my nails and cuticles in check. I've developed calluses over time but that's from continued working out with free weights at the local gym.

Mine are longer than active length, have an overlay and I like some nail art once in a while so doing my own had a bit of a learning curve

I've never entered a nail shop but when I got my manicure done recommended by my former girlfriend , I was the only guy in there among the customers. I actually thought the manicure was nice and relaxing.

If kept in the fridge they should be fine. Food never lasts longer than the expiration date in my house:banghead::banghead::banghead:
It does in mine and I perform a simple test. Visually, is something odd growing on it, if not you're good. If it smells either bad or something that it shouldn't then the trash is the best place for it. If it's something that you are going to warm up to over 180 degree and it has none of the aforementioned problems, I have survived many years without either getting sick or passing on. Heck I buy most of my stuff after the "best before dates" and then keep it going a whole lot longer. If in doubt you throw it out. If nothing appears or smells bad, heat it up and enjoy.

Everyone got on the rip off band wagon a few years back. Beer in a sealed can, or soda in a sealed bottle get thrown away and repurchased. I once had a six pack of Schlitz Beer that sat in my Fridge for 6 years and when opened it was as good as new. I have seen carbonated drinks get flat over time, but never bad.
