The moderator said that the amount of their time needed to deal with the political threads was way too time consuming. People posting personal insults against fellow posters. Cursing. Immature name calling. The moderator additionally said that the spirit of the thread that wdwmagic envisioned was not the reality of what evolved on a day to day basis. Unlike some prior "time outs", this is a permanent shut down. There was a thread announcing the permanent shut down that was up for 3 days. People were able to express their thoughts and the moderator(s) responded here and there. Additionally people were able to reflect back on their time on the political forum(s) and a small handful opted to get in one more insult to those they disagreed with while many opted to say "good bye" to their fellow posters.
Yet regarding the permanent shut down....you know the well established saying: "Never say never".

I just hope we never have a need for that type of thing in the future. Never was before, hopefully never again.

He’s doing well, today is less swelling on the eye by far (yesterday was the peak of it).

He really really doesn’t like the eye drops, that’s a struggle and he’s still crashing into everything with his cone of shame.

His appetite has returned, drinking is still slower as it’s more difficult for him.

As to his name it’s Gunner.

It was closed down last night.

No surprise. It went into full blown insults almost daily.
The mods were probably sick of lashing out warnings consistently along with nonstop post deletions that violate the rules.

I have consistently noticed some serious bias in some of the news groups I participate in Facebook.
I get insulted constantly and their reports say "they did not violate the rules". I gave a test and I copied and pasted what one dude I reported wrote as a reply to him. I got blocked for 3 days. He got a "This post did not violate any rules".
I'm fumming because these groups of supposedly "neutral" arbitrators are completely untouchable and there is no way to contact someone on top to report this BS.

Facebook's idea of moderating is absolutely dismal. I personally know several people who have been doxxed, harassed, and even stalked in real life after FB didn't react to posts in groups saying that these things would happen.

ETA: People have also called workplaces to get people fired, etc. etc.

Yeah, It still baffles my mind when people wonder why they get stalked, kidnaped or their home stolen when they post absolutely everything they do publicly. (when I say this, I mean saying when they are going out to pick their kids, vacations, pics of their home, geotagging everything they do..etc..)

It wouldn't be so bad if their reporting system wasn't a joke and/or broken. They need to flag more keywords and phrases and make sure all the links in the system work the way they're supposed to.

ETA: Honestly, there are groups on FB created with the express intent of targeting people. All it takes is for one person who knows the target in real life and has an who axe to grind for things to quickly get out of hand.

Yep, definitely a good one...wish it was my idea...!!!!!
I'm feelin' fine, thanks for askin'...!!!
No notable side effects from the second Moderna dose for me.
However, Carolyn's arm hurt pretty badly most of the day yesterday, and she left work a coupla' hours early because of a headache she couldn't shake, but, thankfully, she's perfectly fine again today...!!!

I don't think that I have ventured into the political thread for a couple of years. I am way to passionate and intolerant of just how lacking in vision society can be. I don't find it disgusting just terribly scary and makes everything seem hopeless and sad. Does anyone know if it was just closed down because of timing or was something posted that prompted the closure?

I have no idea. I went looking for it, but realized I didn't even know in which section to find it. I have no idea where it was, so I don't know if it's just locked, or if it's been removed, or what.

I might have to do this! Do you know which tip number you used for the flower petals? I've only done roses and...violets? So I've only ever used the 103 and 104 tips. But if I have a tip number, I can probably find a video on youtube.

I wait until I get home to post that we were on vacation, and then I post pics. And I don't generally do the geotagging thing. I don't even have my birthday on there, nor my phone number, which a lot of people do. It just seems like a bad idea to me. My close friends know my birthday, so they don't need the reminder, and anyone who doesn't know it, I'm not close enough to that I would feel offended that they didn't wish me a happy birthday. And same with my phone number...my close friends have it, and anyone who doesn't already have it, they don't need it.
