Well, he could, but he can't really swallow pills and he doesn't want a suppository. But he's better now. He was able to eat dinner last night, and breakfast this morning. Nothing too crunchy, of course, but he's eating, so that's good.

Are gummy and chewable medicines an American thing?

Well, I don't know if they are an American thing, but they aren't a Dutch thing....at least not ones that taste ok. Imagine chewing aspirin...we have pills that you dissolve in water and drink, but they taste like aspirin.

Funny...I JUST had this discussion with E last week. I bought some wintergreen mints from an American import store and she had never had wintergreen. She LOVES is, and I said that's what peptobismol tastes like and her eyes got big and she's like "It tastes like THIS??" Why don't we have that here!!!!?? And I told her I remembered as a kid when I had strep throat or something, I had antibiotics that tasted like grape koolaid. They just don't do meds that taste good here. And a lot of the things that we use like cough syrup, decongestants, etc....those aren't a thing here. They have nasal spray and that's it for stuffy noses. And they have a thyme syrup that you can use for coughing, but there's no such thing as like....robitussin.

When the kids were little, we had to hold them down and use a syringe to shoot the antibiotics into the back of their mouths so they had to swallow to get them to take them. And when they needed to take any kind of meds, we'd have a piece of chocolate ready for them to get the taste out of their mouths from the meds.

And, same here. Too many nights I just can’t seem to shut my stupid brain off, and, for some reason, Sunday nights are usually the worst.
Lately, I’ve been takin’ melatonin a coupla’ nights a week about an hour before bed, and that’s definitely helped, but, I really don’t wanna’ take it any more often than that.

Nope, no slowdown at all. We’re still doin’ OT ‘cause of all the work we have. I did a bunch during the week, so this was finally another half-day Friday, but, we still have projects pilin’ up, and have hired 2 new production folks, and the interior design team hired another person.
It’s just crazy down here right now, but, I ain’t complainin’, ‘cause it’s better than the alternative...!!!

Yep, none of us thought it would be this way during a “damn-demic”...we all thought we were gonna’ be fightin’ for food and survival...turns out, more folks are actually improvin’ their home situations, or just buildin’ a new home.
We have a bit of money stashed ourselves for home improvements, and, hopefully, eventual retirement...definitely not what any of us expected from this...!!!

That's a really sweet offer, but I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to send liquid internationally. Thank you so much, though! I remember trying to mail myself cleaning products and it wasn't allowed. Next time I get to the US, I'll stock up and bring it back in my suitcase. He's really picky about flavors, too. I still have to buy him little kid toothpaste because he doesn't like mint flavor. But he seems to be feeling a lot better. He's still only eating relatively soft foods, but he hasn't complained about it hurting at all today.

I'm sorry you have trouble sleeping! I hate it when I can't turn my brain off. Hopefully tonight will be better for you!
