I was born in 1948. All but one year of that time, when the government sent me on a year long vacation to Southeast Asia, I spent 63 years no more then 45 miles from the Canadian Border of Quebec. We had some fairly cold weather many times during those years. Heck, the day my oldest Daughter was born it was -36 degrees (not counting wind chill). I moved to NC mid-April during one of the hottest summers they had in a long time. There was a week that never went below 100 Degrees. It took me about two weeks to adjust to it to where I could feel comfortable outside of the AC. But @MinnieM123 is a basket case when it comes to loving cold and snow. I think she just likes to wear a coat all the time. My Mother wore a coat all summer the year- I was born. She wasn't cold, but she didn't want anyone to know she was expecting for fear that someone might figure out what she had been doing to get in that condition. Gotta love the old days. She doesn't need any meds. I grew up in a family that doesn't like 90 degree weather, but likes cold weather better. My body naturally is not the best at handling 90 plus degree weather and enjoys cold weather. My parents, and my younger brother are the same at 90 plus degree weather.
The only reason I go to WDW in the late August - to part of September in past years was due to air conditioning and take mid day breaks. My younger brother doesn't like 90 degree weather, but likes cold weather. My dad is the same way.
Although I don't watch football, once a year I do tune in to the popular half-time show, only.
Last night, I saw the Weeknd (no "e" in end, by the way). It was a flashy production; but IMO, it may have been directed to a more niche audience, that is more familiar with the artist's work.
(There was one song I really liked, however, and I don't know the name of it -- but he had people in the background on violins during it.)
I think his group production numbers with everyone in head bandages might not have translated well with the family audience, and probably just left many perplexed. (From what I've read from Variety, he had used prosthetics and makeup to emphasize a dark story in his 2019 "After Hours" album, and had worn the bandages for a while. I don't believe he had any actual plastic surgery.) His idea was done to slam the culture of some celebrities who fed into changing their looks, etc. to feel validated.) Whatever.
Again, if the general audience didn't know the background message of the group's head bandages, during the production numbers, it would just confuse them.
We grew up with fluffy dumplings. The first time I ate dumplings that were basically strips of baked dough I didn’t like them at all.
Oh yeah we were pulling for KC but they just didn’t show up. Brady was at the top of his game last night.
Something I say a lot. Not meant for out demographic.
All of these just prove the point. My 17 year old loved it. I can tell you honestly, she would not have been into a lot of the other acts you mentioned. So, demographics. Interestingly enough, she named the Katy Perry one as the worst. If you go back far enough in the youtube, you will find a Disney themed half time show, that is...well not the best.
I'm the opposite. I got back from WDW yesterday and it was 28 degrees. My lungs were like, nope, and I needed my inhaler. I always work the day after vacation from home because inevitably, I have asthma trouble after the switch. Ironically, wearing masks helps, but only in the 30s or 40s; below that it's still a nope. 90s, my asthma is perfect, but I have slightly less tolerance for the heat since I had my thyroid out, so I have to be careful to drink enough. She doesn't need any meds. It will take until age 25, but it will happen.
@Tony the Tigger how's B? and is your foot still down?
Hopefully by Monday he'll be up to working for both your sakesFoot down, but moot point.
Took him to primary doc this morning. Got a few more meds & a referral to orthopedist.
On the way home, he asks my schedule for tomorrow, I’m working 11-7 or so, so he hints at getting the loaner car today.
I glared. Then I said I wasn’t having this conversation right now, take your meds and take a nap!
He wanted to work Thursday at 6AM. So a few hours later I said if he wakes up Thursday morning and wants to go, wake me up and I’ll take him, and we’ll play it by ear from there.
He agreed!
And then he texted his boss, who told him all his shifts were already covered for the week.
No loaner until at least Monday.
FTFYYou have such good taste!
That would make sense. I hadn't thought of that. I just couldn't imagine it would be lucrative to have a fake business...I mean, no, you wouldn't have to pay the employees, because there was no actual job....but how do you make money from it then? But if they are selling personal information, yeah, that would do it.I'm sure Cesar has more insight into this, but my guess is that they probably try to get people's personal information from perhaps phony, online application forms -- and then sell it. Again, just a guess. There may be other associated scams they run as well.
