Ok, so I'm really fallin' down on the food pics...
Last night we had Rudy's BBQ, and even though it was take out, I forgot to take pics of the deliciousness.
Tonight, we went to...

And I forgot again, beyond this shot...
But, in my defense, I spent a good portion of the day out workin' in the yard with a high of 89, and humid as heck, and was a bit whipped at the time. A good whipped, though. :)

That's okay, I'll bail you out.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
So, Hubby and I drove Son #2 and the GF to downtown Toronto to see "Rent" in some rinky-d-ink theatre waaaaaay outside of the Theatre District.
Having almost 3 1/2 hours to kill, we drove first to my office and site in Brampton, and then to his site in Richmond Hill.

My site is starting to look pretty awesome. We've even had our first few closings this month. No pics, sorry.

I always feel a sense of pride in seeing one of my sites come together. Despite having nothing to do with the building of the homes, I am responsible for every one of those buyers. I educated them; I nurtured them and held their hand through the process; I completed their paperwork, presented their offer to the Builder; and then handed them the "sold" sticker to stick on their lot.

I can only begin to imagine how the Builder feels when he sees his projects completed.

I did, however, take pics at Hubby's site.
Cannot wait to see this project finished!

A couple more. Sorry if everyone other than @donaldtoo is bored.

Another triple tandem garage. Not dark, this time.

Need to ask the Builder tomorrow what these metal X are in the party walls. I've seen lots of towns and semis being built, but have never seen these.

Actually, I always thought he was a bit "off", and that shot just seems to emphasize it even more... :cautious:

:D ;) :)

Cool! Thanks for sharing! :)
As far as that last shot, it looks like what we normally refer too as "X-bracing" down here, and it usually has to do with wind loads. But, also, it's usually only on exterior walls, so I'm a bit perplexed, myself. Looking forward to the builders answer. :)

I like how the corners have so many windows.

And to make up for the construction pics, I offer food p-orn.

Shakes for everyone but Hubby.

Garlic pan bread x2. Brought a full one home.

In the background is GF's sandwich of some sort. She too held the tomato.

Son #2 and I ordered the same thing - Asiago chicken bow tie pasta w/sundried tomatoes (HA!)
He ate all of his. I brought mine home 100% intact.

This is actually pretty usual for almost every single person in the world.
There is something that just causes our brain to "shut down". We will hesitate, stutter and be unable to understand the real thing behind that action.
Me for example, I have a lot of difficulty in geometry and advanced 3d stuff, like 3d modeling in a computer.. my brain would just shutdown and I cant think what to do to even render something more complex than a teacup.

Funny that I'm kinda good doing 3d maps, in game engines (hammer editor..etc..).

I use the 3D modeling program SketchUp at the office. It's really easy to learn, and pretty fun. You should try the free tutorial downloads. :)

I was amazed at how nervous I was about packing up and moving to North Carolina. I even had the advantage of my family already being here. I have a lot of relatives up north but none that I would call close except my sister. If my mother had still been alive, I might have waited before heading south, but, that wasn't the case so what would seem like a no brainer was a difficult decision.

I was dating a very nice young (relatively) lady at the time and had to make a choice. Blood won out. I put up with a lot in my life to keep my family together and it seemed like the right thing to do. It was, but, I didn't know that for sure until I actually made the move. Now I am surrounded by people that I love and I know love me. Whatever happens, I think that I will always feel it was the right decision and I do not regret a single second of it. Sometimes it just takes a little self administered kick in the posterior to set the compass in the proper direction.

Nicely said. :)

and people used to use rocks or sticks.. good to know I was born in this age! lol :hilarious:

We had a choice at my grandparents on my mothers side. Use corn cobs in a box in the outhouse, or the Sears catalog, or bring toilet paper from the camper. Or use any of those in the cane pole patch. I usually opted for toilet paper from the camper in the cane pole patch. ;) :)

I think if I remember correctly that X is used for diagonal measurement to make sure the walls are true and square.
Perhaps. Not in the past 26 years though.
I'll ask tomorrow.

The only difference between this site and every other, is that these units will all have residential sprinkler systems. I can't see how this makes any difference, but that's the only thing special about these units.
Dunno. *shrug
