Yet another very productive day of workin' from home...the partners are all very happy about how all of us have stepped up to coordinate all of this together, and it's workin' very well, right now...!!! :)
I'm REALLY likin' this, but, again, if the work doesn't keep comin' in, it doesn't matter one way or the other... :cyclops:
For now anyhow, I'm still seeing more projects bein' added to our project list daily as I log in...!!! :)

What a lovely idea.

I am sorry your wife lost her job. Hopefully it is just temporary and they will rehire her. I also hope that you won’t lose your job, and that the company you work for stays solvent.

Thank you on both counts...!!! :)
But, we’ll deal like we did the last time, as we need to...we’re kinda’ tough and don’t whine that way...!!! ;);)

Yeah, my parents going on vacation was the time when I was like, "Whelp, time to figure this out." I basically taught myself how to cook through the internet and YouTube, no one taught me other than the few basic skills my mom taught while growing up. But like how to grill, make pasta, my quesadilla recipe (which now my mom makes me cook quesdillas now since she figured out I know how to do them better than throwing them in the oven...) I learned from the internet.

It's just not my favorite thing to do, and especially when I'm done with work in the evenings, I'm not particularly inclined to cook. On weekends I'm more willing. A lot of times when my family is on vacation, if I happen to be home over a weekend, I'll cook then, and then during the week I do takeout and sustain on leftovers from the weekend and from takeout for the week.

It is one of the perks of still living with my parents, though. Mom made up chili the other day while I was working. Now there's plenty of it in the fridge. I probably would have just thrown a salad together had she not done that.

Both of my kids can cook, both choose not to most of the time. It is more worth while for those who live within a household. My DD has been taught our family recipes. She watched me since I do not measure, as Gran taught me. My son actually living alone has cooked more in the last month of his work shelter at home. He is a germaphobe like me and my daughter are. And like you he has gone to the internet to find things to prepare and eat, usually youtube. Cooking isn't any great mystery or skill. It is all in the details and following directions. Shortcut and ewe. Follow the directions you have a nice meal. Me I was taught old world style cooking which is harder to duplicate as there are no directions or measurements. Today there are.

Just put me a kitchen there and I will live there!

The Market is awesome. I've been in awe since she went off to finish Law School. She has her favorite vendors, she also buys fresh flowers for her home each week there, they know her, they treat her fairly. Me I'd miss my favorite dishes eating the way her family does but they eat healthy and their incomes allow for such. Me I am more envious of the housekeeper that comes in once a week and cleans from top to bottom, changes their beds and does whatever laundry doesn't go to the dry cleaners. To me a dream come true given I enjoy cooking.

I need that farm market. Mine is nice but not so fancy schmancy

You can tell by visiting or somewhat from the photos just how established that market in Cleveland is. It is genuinely the most awesome genuine market I've ever seen and am jealous. I am not a fan of Cleveland, I only truck over when I must but dang I love this place. I drool. You can tell by the indoor vendors signage how long they have been there. The market was established in the hall in 1840. The covered farmers market outside is beyond awesome with fresh fruits and veggies. The prices are fair to very reasonable. Drooling again.

Bit more important to keep nurses etc fed than having Saturday night chinese . Jmho

I don't think it is a competition. Social distancing is social distancing. We are just past week 3 of it. It is getting old. Not a thing I can do about it and better than the alternative. I'm just hoping it will warm up a bit so sitting outside will give us another option. We have an outside market where I can pick up plants and keep myself busy.. My adult kids are going bonkers. My son is week by week in when they open again, looking at best June, they have worn out Zoom meetings. My DD employer has pretty much told them they will work and shelter in place until at least August. Me I just want to safely move to Florida but that state is beyond unorganized and lacking any form of leadership as a whole. Disney and their counties must want to strangle the elected leader by now.

You know I hadn’t thought of that. Hmmm hope everyone is trying to social distance while cooking. That would be hard to do.

Also every kitchen is different not only here but abroad. I as we sat in our car at Olive Garden could see the different stations. They used their dining area. Groups of two doing plastic ware and toppings. Two doing salads, two doing breadsticks etc., all apart from each other. Same outside from who we were then onto the gentleman who confirmed our order and brought food once we were directed to a parking spot. I'm sure some do it better than others with social distancing and it seems the mega businesses are more capable.

I picked up a pre order from Sams. The had social distancing taped out. they also put party tables between us and the employees for both of our safety, more than six feet additional barrier. Here no matter where you go there is a plexiglass wall between you and the cashier. Me, I have placed 3 car curbside orders this week from Costco, Local Chain grocer and Target. I think this is how it will be for our family for necessities until this all comes to a head. Nothing is for sure but the more distance we can put between us and others the better the odds.
