So I just wanted to check room prices for Universal since we still have AP's there. It will be very tempting to renew considering it will cost about $1800 for 6 of us with blackout dates. Cannot even compare that cost with Disney AP's. Dh still has a Disney AP that we renewed last year to take advantage of Disney discounts. For the heck of it I saw Disney has AP hotel discounts out for May. Fort Wilderness Cabins are sold out for the offer, and the only thing reasonable (reasonable 🙄 ) is AoA for $371 a night plus tax. Saratoga Springs is over $700 a night. That is just insanity pricing. I then checked out Universal and for 8 nights same time period in May, we can book Cabana Bay for $1500 with our AP discount. No brainer. Going to Universal.
371.. a night? on AOA? what.. the.. hell...

Good grief -- those are "discounted" prices for AoA and Saratoga Springs?!

They're pricing out families. Glad you made a decision to go to Universal instead. Enough is enough.

I’m deciding which summer camps to book this year..
Soccer, Art, Zoo- day camps...possibly a baseball 3 day camp, an overnight week camp, now I’m considering a martial arts day camp too
He’s never done martial arts, but I think it might help him.. we’ll see. I’ll talk to T about it.

You'll have a better idea of what to do, once you discuss with T.

I'm a fan of the day camp idea, because when I was his age, I went to a (town) day camp. We had swimming, arts and crafts, archery, softball (but I didn't like softball, so I spent extra time in the pool, which I loved ;) ), cookouts, and a pie-eating contest for the 4th of July.

It was a blast for the local kids (my brothers also went), and we came home each afternoon. Camp lasted for maybe 3/4 of the summer. :) It was also very cheap for my parents to send us kids there, as the town subsidized the cost of the camp.

Just saw the most entitled guest behavior...I think quite possibly the most entitled guest behavior I've ever seen.

One side of Alien Swirling Saucers is down. The line is 70 minutes. B really wanted to do it, so I went up for a DAS. There were this group of 8, three scooters and a double stroller. The woman was telling at the CM with the iPad. Like, screaming. I listened in and found that they had a DAS. They were upset because they didn't want a return time. The woman whined that they had no more FPs and the lines in the park were long so there was nothing to do. The CM eventually just let them through the FP line. As I hear them saying that they were going to put a diaper on their toddler because he had to go to the bathroom too much and they were tired of stopping.

I asked the CM for a return time. She let us through, I guess since I had just seen the whole thing. I wasn't even going to ask.

My mom and I got on the saucers. We were assigned a number. We were towards the back of the line. B and my dad had boarded. There was no saucer for us. I look, and one of the guys from the group of 8 is by himself. What? They had The CM went to ask him about it. He said he was in a group of 4 and the kids were with their mom. Uh...nope. I vouched for the CM who boarded us and let them know how horribly they treated the first CM. They ended up letting B and my dad ride twice so we could ride together and my mom and I had to wait.

On the bright side, I've never had a more appropriate opportunity to say "The word I want to use I can't because there are preschool toys in the room."

Wow! Long time no see @MouseDreaming ! I hope you are healthy and well. :)
Thanks! Healthy, well, and entirely too much going on. So, really, nothing new. I realized I was missing all of you, when DH asked if I knew anyone in Austin. I kinda chuckled and told him sort of. DH and DS are headed to Austin. I just dropped DS off for his last first day of the semester for under grad. He wants to look at grad school in Austin. So here is fair warning, @donaldtoo . Lock your doors, and give me any food or other don't miss in Austin info. :)

Truly out pricing us, plus we have a kid starting college in the fall. Now it won’t cost us an arm and a leg as it is a state university and she will be commuting, but we do need to be more conscious with our spending.

All my kids did like Universal especially my 2 youngest ones surprisingly. They all love Volcano Bay. Our plan is to spend 8 days at Cabana Bay and use it as a home base. We will do a beach day or 2.
When we finally get a vacation again it'll be maybe a short Disney trip or a UNI trip. The Disney is a maybe because of Shades and dh can get tickets through work otherwise it would be UNI. Enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That being said we drive and are willing to stay in a condo if we have the boys

Next time tentatively at Disney for us will be when all the construction will be done. So that is like 2022/23. Uni’s new park will be open in ‘23 also. We would probably by tickets for Disney but stay offsite.
