Quick thoughts on using genie plus the last few days.

The other day I managed to get about 6 rides out of it I believe. And yesterday was around the same. I believe it was 6 or 7 total count.

I figured about $2 some change per ride.. Let me say this period I am not a fan of Disney charging the $15 but we are where we are.

I remember reading in one of the forums that Disney must drop additional wait times throughout the day because I've definitely noticed that period if you try to book really early or before 10 AM there will be limited spots and most of them are for later in the day. By logging in after 11 or 12 noon I noticed much better availability for the afternoon. Same for the evening as well. I was able to get a ride selection usually within an hour. A few times it was even less than that.

I have not paid for the individual lightning lane and I don't think I will. I will draw the line at giving them 7 to $15 to ride a ride.

Probably my biggest complaint is that the server obviously gets overloaded in the morning and it kicks you on and off a lot. A cast member told Me to Just not be on the Disney Wi-Fi and that seems to help.

Also I do not like that you can only use it for one attraction per day. Tried to use it again for Star Wars and it told me you're only allowed 1 per day. If they're gonna charge they should let you use it multiple times if you want

I've been to WDW many times but not since Genie+ and LL have gone in .. and I have to say, I'm not looking forward to it. The extra cost, yeah, thats the state of things - fine. But the extra time to plan each hour of your day? No!

But enough of that, I'm looking forward to more irreverently silly posts and certainly more cold beverages to anesthetize my work-from-home and back-pain inducing daily slog.

I left this morning. I'll be finishing yesterday up soon. Thanks so much to everyone who is following along!

It’s January, during a pandemic. We would expect Genie + to work reasonably well. If it didn’t, we would be in real trouble.

I think the real test will be when most of the guests know how to use it AND is a super crowded time.

That said, I also think we will see tweaks to the system as time goes on..

The many faces of 9000
