So, I guess the saying let them eat cake is no longer an option???
Seriously, I know groceries costs are up but based the whole price of a cake as someone mentioned, I could buy a lot of cake mix and icing and bake my own cakes at home. Part of the fun of going to WDW is trying different things that you don't do every day. But honestly the cost of a piece of cake is ridiculous. For that price, the cake better be the best you ever had and have a rare ingredient. I don't think that bake shop will be open that long at that price.

I wouldn’t pay $24 for even a whole cake anywhere, unless it was for a legit charity, fundraiser, etc.
Do some folks think payin’ $24 for a friggin’ slice of cake is actually somethin’ to brag about…?!

You haven't had "Cakes by Pat" which you can purchase from the Busy Bee at Exit 283 (Live Oak) along I-10. That's about the price for the entire cake. Yum!I wouldn’t pay $24 for even a whole cake anywhere, unless it was for a legit charity, fundraiser, etc.

To be fair, I’m not really a big cake eater anyway, so those prices are still off-putting.
One of the best cakes I’ve had recently is the vegan birthday cake for our oldest GD pictured below, made by our oldest DD. I’m not vegan, or even vegetarian, but I had 2 huge slices, ‘cause it was so moist and delicious…!!!!!

The cakes come already shiny, let alone they'd ask you to make a wish and toss more on the cake from the badabble they sprinkled within your bare hands, and unless you as the adult says no they'll badapple adorn over your head and hair. "Magic without a character in sight!"

Thought I just read where the Cake Bake Shop has lowered prices a little bit from their highs...

They did. Some by as little as a penny, and others, like the kid's meal went from $18 to $12.99.

Lowered some, but increased others. Some of the cake slices which were already marked up 40% higher than other Cake Bake locations have had another $1 added to the price.

I normally don't condone adults asking for the kids meal, but the way this place has priced things I hope they get dozens doing it every day, just to annoy management.

I give this place a year and a half.
We have another NBA experience level of failure here in my opinion.

I don’t agree with this. NBA was at Springs, where there are tons of other options. Cake Bake is at the Boardwalk, which already has one huge shuttered storefront (Big River) and ESPN closed years and years ago. They need something to be open. Badly.

Good point. Maybe that's what the Cake Bake Shop is counting on. Good luck to them.
I give them a year and a half at the prices they charge.
Disney does not care, When the Cake Bake Shop fails, they will simply find another tenant.
