The American Adventure

If you could change The American Adventure to a ride rather then a sit-down attraction what type of ride system would you use/prefer?

I would prefer something like SSE but with better seating and maybe add a interactive screen (but make sure the attraction has a proper ending!) :animwink:

EVERTHING that brings a little life to WS is good. The area at the moment has absolutely no spectacular attraction. The movies are terribly outdated, the rides are either to tame (Maelstrom, although I love it) or a little lame (Three Amigos). And sorry folks, to foreigners American Adventure is plain boring after you saw it once. I saw it first in 1984 and never again even thought about doing it a second time.

I don't believe the show lends itself to any ride system - to change it would completely affect how the history is presented and the storyline. Not everything has to be a thrill ride, especially in the WS where people are meant to (gasp!) learn about other cultures.

If you are forcing me into providing a response, i guess the best system that would retain many of the original show elements and keep the theme would probably be some use of the UoE ride components. That way you could alternately have screens and AAs throughout the ride.

I haven't seen American Adventure in a few years, but I think I remember the use of fog a good bit, I think a river of time type ride, like Pirates, would work pretty well, but with Mexico and Norway already having water rides, I don't think that would necessarily work. A doom buggy ride would be my next choice.

I remember seeing a video ride-through created using a computer that was posted here on WDWMagic years ago before I'd actually seen American Adventure.

A ride system would be very interesting but the way it is now as a show is very good too.

I agree with you the show and theater are good as is, It was just a thought that crossed my mind and I know alot more people would come to this attraction if it was a ride as opposed to a sit down theater, Alot of people view this attraction that I know like Hall of Presidents which gets a bad wrap

I love the American Adventure as it is. Sure, there can be improvements made, but the theatre-style was used for a reason (I think). I don't think a "ride" would do the presentation justice, or would be respectful of presenting our American history.

My husband and mother think it is one of the best attractions. For me, I just can't get into it and often find myself nodding off half way into the show. A ride would definitely help my interest level. I do understand those that appreciate it exactly as is though.
