One unique item at the Olympic village is one part of the Village is heavily guarded which was mentioned to the media . It is the area where the Israeli athletes are staying. No one wants another Munich 72'. The live coverage of Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg rapping in Long Beach CA to introduce the world to Los Angeles 28' was awesome!

The Long Beach scene was entertaining, but the Tom Cruise sequence stole the show and set it up.

Looks like breaking had its big moment. Breaking and also the equestrian events won't be part of 2028. That said, looks like baseball and softball are back.

If equestrian events are to be eliminated, that's sad. They've been part of the Olympics since 1900. Equestrian events are some of my favorites to watch, and I'll miss them. :(

So uhh...someone did their research on the breakdancing that took place....turns out the way the girl from Australia got into it is a complete sham and the Olympics allowed it anyway, because there's no governing body for breakdancing, anywhere

There is a community note there now disputing some of the info in that post. No clue what the facts are, and not that interested at this point. I checked it out for a few minutes and moved on to other events.

Yes. An event that had a brief moment and thankfully is being rapidly forgotten. Don't expect a return in any future Olympics.

And now we know why Jordan Chiles had her medal taken away

Jordan Chiles is a GOLD medalist from the team competition. Due to the officials' mistakes a tie should be declared and award both the bronze. Dual awards for ties have been done in the Olympics before and would cover the IOC's behind. Regardless, she is a GOLD medalist the Bronze issue does not change that.
