I’d like to welcome you to what I believe might be the first “No Trip” trip report.

My name is Tuvalu. Ok, that’s not my real name (it’s not “Shirley” either 😉) but it’s how I’m known here on WDWMagic. For the past six years I have contributed a lot of trip reports in this forum. A lot! Along the way I have met so many wonderful people and made new friends, some of whom I have had the privilege of meeting in person. Honestly the reason why I write is for you, the reader, because I cherish our interactions. (Getting to re-live my trip is just a bonus!)

My husband Woody, my daughter Em and I were supposed to be leaving for our Spring Break trip to WDW tomorrow. Of course we are sad we cannot go (and our doing our part to keep ourselves and others safe) but remain confident we WILL get to go back sometime in the future.

I had been contemplating going “live” for our trip. Woody and Em are not fans of my reporting “live” since my attention is diverted from enjoying vacation with them. However this idea for a “No Trip” trip report came straight from Woody himself!

So for the next week, if you‘d like to Journey into My Imagination and read about what could have been, I’ll be here.

Not gonna lie. The park is full of other Easter week visitors like us. We squeeze our way through the bottlenecks (you know where the narrow areas are!) and manage to join the mile long line for the Peoplemover.

Ironic, huh ~ Shouldn’t something called the PeopleMOVER not have a line? Just sayin’.

Well we have nowhere else to be so we can wait.

But it’s always worth the wait. :geek:

Fun memory ~ Several years ago Woody got chosen as “That Guy.” He’s a good sport and played along. “That Guy” always gets a sticker at the end of the show, which Woody immediately stuck to his tee shirt.

Later that day we were waiting in line for ice cream. A little boy ahead of us turned around. His eyes got real big and he tugged on his father’s shirt and whispered, “Daddy look! It’s That Guy!”

It made our day.

None of us get selected to participate today. “Churro Guy” doesn’t get up to dance. C’mon dude, loosen up....you’re on vacation!

We decide to head out before we get trapped by Festival of Fantasy. In Town Square, a U.K. based television show....Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway....is tearing down after filming last night. The show filmed in this exact spot this exact week three years ago.

We are back at WL. Still waiting for our “Your room is ready” text. Going for a drink at Geyser Point.

Kona Longboard for Woody, Frosé for Em and a Banana Cabana for moi. All seats in the bar area are occupied. Fortunately for us, there is an open bench outside overlooking the lake. It’s a beautiful view. A perfect location for sipping our libations.

The room text does not come until 4:30 pm. I’ve heard that often happens with DVC rooms.

Em and I walk to the front of the Lodge while Woody gets the car. We unload under the portico. Em and I wait for Woody’s return then we head for our room. I’m excited to see the transformation from regular room to studio villa.

I like what I see!

The room is on the second floor (which is the lobby level) so no elevator issues to contend with this week.

The bathroom has a stall shower....sweet!

How awesome of the kid to have such great observation skills! Way to go, Woody for wearing the sticker and proudly volunteering!

Love this idea! Obviously my April 25th trip was cancelled but I rescheduled to early August with their free dining guest recovery package. But will we get to go? Who the heck knows! We've been under a stay at home "request" since mid March and a stay at home "order" since the end of March. I'm so thankful we moved when we did bc we now live in a house with fast internet that allows my husband to work from home and we also get grocery and pharmacy delivery here. Works in my favor since my doctor's last words to me before he retired were "keep your a$$ at home!" I'm high risk at 39 so I haven't left the house in weeks since we live in an outbreak area. Good thing I'm a natural homebody - bc our stay at home order lasts until June 10th!!!!

Yes. I played “Guess the number” with Buddy Boil.
Thankfully there is no photographic evidence of me with finger antennas on my head! 🤣

Thankfully I slept fine, but awoke feeling the same way I did last night. 🙁

No muffin, Entenmann’s or chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.
