EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

Rode the new Test Track today.
Really like the new version.

I went in spoiler free, and enjoyed a lot of elements.
Queue was classy…loved the futuristic cars taking center stage.
Great memories of the ol’ TransCenter days.

Ride experience was also nicely done.
I appreciated the real sets, new lighting choices, and the lighting effects used in certain scenes.
The climax in the ‘speed tunnel’ before racing outside was also a great moment.
Fits the spirit of EPCOT Center nicely.
Also really enjoyed the throwback to World of Motions’ old ‘Peppers Ghost’ effect where you see yourself in a futuristic vehicle.
And how about the awesome looking yellow Corvette in the post show area…?
Sexy.

I loved World of Motion.
Always a favorite to ride back in the day.

I was not a fan of the original TT.
Found it noisy, busy, and pretty much pointless.
Who wants to race around like this when one can easily duplicate a similar experience on your local highway?
I skipped it after one try every visit afterwards.
The music I found grating as well…
(Sorry to those that loved it….)

TT 2.0 was a big improvement to me.
‘Tron Track’ had a lot I liked, from the music, to the design your own vehicle aspect, to a more futuristic approach and appearance.
This one I rarely skipped, and often rode a couple of times per visit.

TT 3.0 is even better, although I wish they kept the design your own vehicle element for those that wanted to do so.

New Imagineering Video Reveals EPCOT Easter Eggs in the New Test Track 3.0

I really love some of what I’ve been seeing since Bruce Vaughn has returned to lead Imagineering. The public facing image seems more cohesive, organized and more engaged with fans. Having Rohde and other previous Imagineers back to provide mentorship, the restart of the Illusions Lab, and even things like the Imagineering YouTube Channel are all fantastic.

I completely agree. It’s the best version of test track. We rode it for the first time this past weekend.
Totally old school Epcot. 👏 👏

Has there ever been an attraction with as many extensive makeovers? I have a feeling I'll be taking my grandkids on TT 7 (Yeah, 7) .0 and spinning yarns about kiosks in the queue and rambling on about how version 5.3 was peak Test Track.
If You Wings/Dreamflight/Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin was the first thing to come to mind. I'm sure there's a couple more.

Maybe in a different part. RSR would be completely thematically inappropriate for EPCOT. Not that that has stopped them before.
It's not stopping them from putting Cars in Frontierland sooo... What did Unkie Joe say about theming versus decorating or something akin to that? At this point, I have no idea what the theme of Epcot's front door is anyway, so I guess anything goes.

I agree. As far as the upper brass at Disney is concerned "Theme" and "Story" are far less important than "Promotion" and "Money". Might as well make all the parks as indistinguishable as Six Flags while they are at it.
