EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

Let me save everyone the suspense, this update is going to stink just like everything else they have done in the past 5 years. I was in Disney last week checking out the new EPCOT retheme, amazingly underwhelming and boring...adds nothing to the park and it took 5 years. Also, Tiana's bayou adventure may be the worst thing ive ever ridden in a Disney theme park....even worse than runaway railways
Sometimes these threads really lend themselves to imagining the trips that members of this forum take to Walt Disney World on a surprisingly frequent basis with family and friends and it is spectacular in its own way.

A simple observation:

There are lots of trees in the one piece of concept art we've seen, but there weren't many trees in WOM other than the few in the barking dog/farming scene.

That concept art looks more like a ride through a jungle than a "test track." The original ride looked like a vehicle testing facility and had elements (outside loop) that represented a manufacturer proving ground.

That forested area could just be one tiny segment of the whole... I don't think any of us really know what the ride will be like this time... Could be mostly the same with a bit of a mention of new technology and electric vehicles... It would be nice to have a little more real information.... It would be nice if they used the "Fun To Be Free" music on the outdoor loop...

What a tired old trope.

You've seen countless big name franchises totally fail because of that false narrative.

Star Wars
Star Trek
Marvel
DC
Doctor Who
Indy
Pixar

Maybe the fans are the cannery in the coal mine foreshadowing the destruction of beloved franchise because of crap product.
What is a "cannery"?

I worry about this renovation. My hope is these changes are just aesthetic and they don’t try to “update” or “improve” the ride system or vehicles.

If they just make aesthetic changes I am confident they will reopen and operate with no issues.

If they are trying to align it into more of a World Discovery theme, then hopefully there will still be some kind of technology component, which is part of that mantra. Thankfully, TT doesnt sit in World Nature - otherwise, I'd be worried about a fake tree-apalooza

They could mix both...Fun to Be Free as they're taking us through the indoor portions and then for the high-speed loop they put on a portion of "Life is a Highway" for that "road trip" song.

Fitting of what?
Connections is sterile. No soul.
Guardians is great but doesn’t belong in Epcot.
Rat isn’t anything new or special. And the expansion to the pavilion to go along with it looks like garbage.
Luminous is still a downgrade to something made decades ago.
And that doesn’t even cover the things they didn’t do.
As I said, their track record in Epcot should give people concern.
France looks awesome. Rat is also a great ride and fit for Epcot. Not everything needs to be super technical.

Epcot should give no one concern. The main person in charge of that calamity is gone and has been for a bit now. Also, we can’t keep ignoring that Covid had a major impact on this land.

My assumption was that they might be keeping the "testing a vehicle in a variety of environments" arc of the existing narrative but instead populate it with more realistic (and therefore more timeless) sets rather than the neon grid cut-out pines and whatnot in the 2.0 iteration.

I heard that in one of the tests, you will be in a forest and a Rachel Zeigler animatronic & a bunch of singing animals will appear and your car will swerve several times to avoid them.

In another part you're going to be near a open body of water and Luca is going to wave to us.

Just before we exit the interior part of the building for the speed test, Asha and that wishing star will give our car an extra boost so we can take on the outdoor speeding portion.
