Test Track Sponsorship

GM/Chevy Seems to be the only sponsor left from the early years of Epcot and as we have seen that many sponsors come and go....What are the chances this is going to be a Sponsor-less pavilion down the road and with the recent IP-ing of Epcot? Would they still keep the idea of creating your concept car for a test run or would they take it to another direction?

Let's hope the contract ends and Chevy realizes no one buys their cars because of the attraction.

The concept car creation process is just a beating after you've done it a couple times. It's not even that it's a horrible idea, but the execution is awful. Half the time, the onboard "computer" doesn't work and you're left wondering if your car performed well or not. The test results are hard to see, the in car screen is awful, and you basically zoom by all the results. It's a waste of time.

The car creation process takes WAY TOO LONG for frequent visitors. It's not fun to go through all that just to get on the ride.

If they got the tech right and executed it well, maybe, but as it stands...it’s terrible.

I MUCH prefer the original ride.

I hate myself for mentioning this, but Disney could easily overlay a Cars testing facility.

I really want that sponsorship to end just so disney has the excuse to retheme it into anything beyond boring tron like theme.

One thing I would like to see is John Michael Higgins return for the attraction..

While I liked the show portion with those two from the original, I do enjoy making the car 3 or 4 times a trip (my kid's favorite ride) I also do not miss the old queue at all. It was headache inducing and scared little ones. Glad it's gone. Really don't care about the rest really.

This is an attraction I could give or take. The design area is so so, I am a design engineer, I do this stuff every day on real CAD software. I let my wife do the design. The actual ride feels nothing like the real conditions (ice, rain, etc.). the only okay part is the ride around the outside of the building. Even after the ride is complete, the area where you can play is underwhelming.

Also the stagnant first queue area where the engines are, cant they make that area more dynamic. Have cutaways of the engines with moving parts?

The car creation process is the whole reason I go on the ride. The first test track was so boring, I went once and never again. The new one is a must do multiple times as we come up with more stupid ideas for the crazy car we want.

The original was boring.

They took a unique ride and placed a half video game that only works half the time on top of it. Stuck some black lights and video screens on the track to make it look like you are in a computer which is not believable at all. It’s stale and old after the first ride. The queue for the first ride was worse but the ride it self is hands down better from design, story telling and execution. Aweful overlay.

I agree the idea of being the Crash Test Dummy made it more fun than being the designer and going into the grid to test your car that hardly ever worked.
