Test Track Rehab?

Screamscape.com is reporting that Test Track is currently down, with CMs advising it will reopen on 11/16. Any one have any info on this?

From Screamscape.com:
Park News - (10/22/07) A local area source hit Epcot over the weekend and found Test Track to be closed. The CM out front said that the ride would be down until November 16th for a major rehab. As of this moment, there is still nothing posted on the official Disney World website rehab page about this rehab. I also called Disney information on the phone and they said as far as they knew, Test Track was open today. So can anyone else confirm if Test Track is open or closed right now? It’s worth noting that the WDW refurbishment list page had just not been very forthcoming this year when it comes to posting timely information about any ride rehab involving a primary park attraction. Information about the last two planned rehabs of Rock ‘n Roller Coaster for example were not posted until a week or two before the ride was to close, and as I recall they were kind of hesitant to post timely information about the summer long closures of the Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth as well.

I know. Okay, I finally got a hold of them, they are operational right now. This thread is no longer needed, but feel free to talk about Test Track in general. Sorry everyone!

I think it could use a rehab...I rode it twice on the 13th, Once in Sept and once in August and each time I was in a vehicle that had little or no working onboard audio. If it was working, it was filled with heavy static. The video screen was also not working on one of those times. I don't know if that's enough to close it for a month, but I doubt that I had gotten in the same car each of those times...

I was just there yesterday and it was fine. ScreamScape is about as credible as my shoe.

It sure as heck NEEDS a major rehab, but Disney wouldn't pull that out of their hat. It sounds to me like someone overheard a conversation a CM was having with someone else, likely about Spaceship Earth or another refurb.

Very strange. For a spur of the moment close it sounds perculiar, assuming this is right. They wouldn`t close it unannounced for audio issues. When I rode a fortnight ago I was pleasently surprised how many visual effects were working, not including the ones deactivated. Collapsing cones? Yep. Hill climb gobos? Yep. Incar LCDs? You bet. One car had audio issues from the multiple times I rode.

Couple weeks ago, it was having major problems and had to be shut down. We received fast passes good for a month and rode it a few days later with no noticible problems.

After Radiator Springs...

perhaps after they finish Radiator Springs Racers which is supposed to be the 3rd generation of the ride platform they will back port the fixes into TT. I guess Journey to the Center of the Earth at TDR is the 2nd generation.

Why does everyone beat up on Screamscape? Lance is careful to denote rumors as such. The post quotes Lance saying, "[/SIZE]I also called Disney information on the phone and they said as far as they knew, Test Track was open today. So can anyone else confirm if Test Track is open or closed right now?" Give the guy a break. :)

I know there was a rumor going around that Test Track was going to get some upgrades as part of a test for the new cars attraction at DCA. I don't know how credible this rumor is, as I heard it on a podcast.

I thought TT and JTTCOFE were both second gen, and Rocket Rods was first gen.

Nah...the Rods were just the budget-cut, no-frills, el cheapo version.

I really liked the Rods, though. Far more fun than TTA....when they were working.
