Test Track Rehab?

TT had a refurb back in january of 2006.

You wouldn't know it. I went to Epcot six times in June and tried to ride TT every single time, every day it broke for a couple of hours and then three times it stopped in mid ride, once during the environmental testing, once over the bumps and once during the turns. The video screens weren't working on two of the trips. I've never actually ridden TT without something occurring or breaking or not going right once.....

I was just there yesterday and it was fine. ScreamScape is about as credible as my shoe.

It sure as heck NEEDS a major rehab, but Disney wouldn't pull that out of their hat. It sounds to me like someone overheard a conversation a CM was having with someone else, likely about Spaceship Earth or another refurb.

Why does everyone beat up on Screamscape? Lance is careful to denote rumors as such. The post quotes Lance saying, "[/SIZE]I also called Disney information on the phone and they said as far as they knew, Test Track was open today. So can anyone else confirm if Test Track is open or closed right now?" Give the guy a break. :)

I agree. While Screamscape is often wrong, they just about always identify the stuff that doesn't have much behind it as unsubstantiated rumors, or just plain musings from Lance.

Plus, I've always found my shoe (the right one, specifically) to be very credible on those rare moments it chooses to speak to me.

Of course, I have the "Get Smart" shoephone model. :hammer:

Some people just may not have very good luck. Was there last week, rode it several times, every time was perfect.

As an aside, has anyone else noticed that some cars are faster than others?
One of the cars we had topped out at 73 mph, while the others were usually around 67-70.

I still don't get why some people complain that TT is like "driving to work" or whatever.
Do they drive in an automated vehicle, through hairpin turns, through blazing heat, freezing cold, smelly acid, and hit 70 mph on a huge banked curve everyday to work?

If its single cars with the static... don't they switch cars out for regular maintainence all the time??

hmm... subtract the cold and acid (most of the year anyway), replace automative with cruise control, and it sounds like a commute in Florida sometimes...

Apparently you've never been on the Hutchinson River Parkway at rush hour.

I saw a 50 minute stand-by line on Sunday evening, around 5-6pm. I have noticed on many cars where the display is out of sync with the ride; i.e. it will say you are still accelerating even though the car has slowed.

Saw the same thing...until the rain started, that is.

Rain didn't seem to dampen the spirits of those who were partaking in the food and wine festival, tho...there were quite a few I saw who probably didn't notice the rain!
