Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but for about the last 5 months now Test Track has been able to load 4 cars at once. The drawback to this, is that most cars need to "Pause" at the crash test section of the ride, before heading out for the highspeed loops.

Needless to say, the "crash test car" has been disabled, but the wind effect is still working.

When asked about it a cast member had said that they always run 4 cars when it's busy. I don't belive that, as lately even though it's not "Busy" they are still running 4 cars, I've yet to see them drop back down to loading 3 actully.

Also, test track has been running quite often empty after epcot closes lately. No idea on if this is due to a special event being held after hours, or if maintince work or something else is being done.

(I should respond....shouldnt i? lol)
Test Track has been loading 4 cars, as you said, for the past 5 months. This change is not due to park attendance. 4 cars are loaded on a constant basis. As for me, I personally liked loading 3 cars to 4 cars. It was much easier.
The carsh car has been disabled for the past year and a half I believe. The only thing you may notice is the "sound" of a car crashing, not the actual thing.

any chance they're planning on bringing that crashing car back anytime?? -in my opinion its one of the best parts of the attraction (lol, especially when you're in a car full of first-time-riders! "oh no! we're gonna crah just like that car")

I really dont think that the crash scene will ever work again    ..
The first-time riders are the best. I took two of my cousins on it, and they almost (blanked) in their pants at the truck scene...I purposely made them sit on the left side...ahahaha...

Any reason why they stopped the crash scene??? It kinda ruins the "OMG" effect. You stop there for a reason...to watch the scene...without it...it doesn't "flow" as smoothly.

i completely agree... UGH! -this is just another example (in my opinion) of disney being cheap and lazy. they're slacking here! -seriously, could you imagine being the imagineer who came up with this part of the ride, just to have it removed.

:fork: oh man they better bring it back, this seriously is one of the best parts of the ride because it gives that "this is what's to come for you" effect

UGH! i bet that damn mikey had something to do with it! i'll get him for this... and his little dog too! (pluto) hahahahaa!:drevil:

 lol sory, i actually have no prob with mike.

Thats what i think they are doing it for, heck. when the park is empty, this ride would still have a line. Walk on for every ride but TT.

Happy 4th Test Track!!!

Today is Test Track's 4th Birthday.....

The line for Test Track is always high, because it is by far the most popular ride in Epcot. I always get questions asking why Test Track's Fastpasses are gone by mid-day vs. those at either Living with the Land and HISTA. And as I pointed before, its popular. Now, when Mission: SPACE opens, both Test Track and Mission: SPACE will be the most popular in the park, and most likely running out of Fastpasses by mid-day, still. ( I dont know if what I wrote makes much sense to anyone, but I never make much sense to myself either. Yesh for Test Track's 4th!!!!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I have a hard time believing that cost-cutting was a huge factor in this. The effect hasn't worked in forever, so why not move more people through at the expense of a brief pause? The effect may just be too darn complicated or breakdown-prone for them to justify operating it. Tower of Terror's eyeball photo effect hasn't worked in forever either, but people don't seem to miss it.

I didn't find the effect all that great, anyway. The darn thing only moved like 5 mph, and you could see exactly where it was going to crumple. It's just as effective to have it just sitting there.

i suppose thats a pretty good point... YA HEAR THAT DISNEY, AT LEAST LEAVE THE DARN THING SITTING THERE LOOKING AS IF IT JUST CRASHED (maybe the wow effect wont be as effective, but it sure is better than nothing!!!)
