One Little Spark...
True. Good way to describe it.

I will say, however, we got on an info list by giving the hubby's contact info on our Sept. 2011 trip. In November when we finally had to buy a new Tahoe because the old one was dying we conveniently received a $1500 rebate mailer. The $4k GM incentive + the $1500 rebate on top of hubby negotiating a killer price had us walking out the door at less than dealer invoice. That was nice.

Still, hubby regrets not buying the Acura I pushed for. My car has proven to be far more reliable and it's older than the Tahoe. Tsk tsk tsk. I love saying "I told you so." :p

I wouldn't buy a GM car if you paid me to...and the government has tried...

I was proud as to how my company handled our losses in that area then (we paid for their hotels, gave them remote work, etc...)

It was a sad time for the city...which was a slum...and afterwards...was a slum. But a very romantic one! <kidding...sortof>

NOLA proper was every bit the nightmare we always knew it would be post-disaster. We always knew there would be heavy casualties down there and that the "animals" would be difficult to re-contain. We were separated by a 26 mile bridge. I could tell you stuff that would blow your mind. I'm glad I did what I did and served my community but I left that profession as a result of the long separation from my family especially my children. Katrina, all of it, was one of the hardest things I ever did.

Well, I appreciate what you and your family went through.

It was a terrible time for many down there, and I was very happy that the company I worked for at the time decided to do the right thing and help out our employees.

I will say that the rest of the South didn't benefit from those who were probably unemployed to begin with and relocated as a result of the storm.

And I'll leave it at that...

Hubby swore up & down he needed an 8-cylinder for pulling his boat. The Acura was a 6 but had a towing capacity that would've worked. He was concerned about distance and pulling the boat up the boat ramps. The problem is the slight miss when idling and the transmission temp that runs at 200+ when towing. All the GM mechanics we've talked to and research online, GM says the miss is "normal" and the high transmission temps are okay even though the manual says he's running at the tip-top of the safe temps. It's all poor design that GM claims is "normal" because they don't want to fix such wide-spread problems. These things are symptoms of a LOT of same-year Tahoe owners.

When the Ford Atlas comes out I think DH will be dumping the Tahoe. I'll keep my Acura. That car and I love each other!

I looooove to drive! When I learned to drive I learned to race! As a gal who appreciates design and performance in a car, I have zero love for TT2.0.

With all this negative reviews, maybe I won't be too disappointed on my first ride, because I'm already let down by it from what IS have read. But well will see inn september.

I got to go for a ride in a Model S and I am obsessed with Tesla now. If only I had the $100,000 the car costs...

For a car that spacious and heavy to go as fast and handle as well as the Tesla can is amazing. The acceleration is so instantaneous you get pushed back into your seat everytime you take off when the light turns green.

We need time for things to happen.
Really really. We rode it in January. I offered to take my husband to Epcot in Sept. His response? Why? Soarin is filth. TT is crap now. Lets just sleep in that day and keep the $$. Pretty bad when a man turns down what once was his fav park.

The problem w/the new TT is that there's less to see. If all the technology doesn't work perfectly there's nothing to see. You're just in a car riding past light streaks, a few monitors, and a breezy outside loop. The story cannot survive when the tech fails. That's bad. The ride feels hollow overall for us. It's a one & done now.

Super disappointed to hear this. :(

The S runs around 60k, last I looked, but still 'speeeensive!

That and every 100k miles the battery cells need replacing, which costs around 15k.

We rode today and everything worked fine, presumably. Nothing seemed out of sorts. The whole family loved it and enjoyed the post-show, as well. It was certainly different from the original, but none of us felt it was a lesser ride.

My older son and I designed some sort of tankish vehicle that scored very high everywhere except environmentally. It turns out our vehicle left instant death and destruction in its wake. My wife, daughter, and younger son designed some sort of tree-hugger special with flowers and whatnot on it that my son hated.

Anyway, we really enjoyed it, so there's hope for those of you who haven't ridden before.

I got a price quote online of what the version I was in cost: $95,020 after the EV tax credit. The options and the extra ten grand they charge for the 300 mile range battery really add up. But in like 5 or so years they want to have a 30k Tesla if they get the technology to that price. Might have to wait until then to buy one.
