Teppen Edo

Hi all,

I'm looking for some reviews on Teppen Edo. My DH really wants to try it - we have never been. And this trip, i'm trying not to make as many TS ADR's so we are more flexible - we love the food at the World and it is a major part of our trip but I am just trying to have a different experience. Anywho - as it stands, I don't have this ADR. And my DH doesn't ask for much, so I am going to book it - but I wanted to get a review first and see if it is worth it and what the food/experience is like.

Thank you in advance! :sohappy:

Its Benihana in Epcot. The food is good, and the service is fun, but if you've had Japanese Steakhouse you've had this. That said, if you like the Japanese Steakhouse experience enough to want this over other possible TS ADRs go for it.

We had a great time at Teppan Edo. It's the only time I've been to a restaurant with the cooking at the table experience. Despite the glut of multicultural restaurants we don't seem to have (many) of these types of restaurants in my parts, so it's a novel experience.

We'll go back on our next trip 'fer sure'.

Food wasn't amazing, but it was good. Presentation was amazing.

That's what I thought - like a Benihana. And although that is fun and yummy, I don't know if it is something to use a Table Service on. So i'm torn - do I just use one for the hubby who asks very little, or do I try to make my case and not go. I'm torn.

There are so many places with amazing food, I don't know if it is worth going. Both my DH and I have had the table experience and it is a good time.

We tried Teppen Edo for the first time in Dec. Like others have stated its similar to a local Steakhouse. We really enjoyed it. The cook was entertaining, meet some nice people and had a nice meal. We used a TS and didn't think twice. It's a good show with good food.

My family and I liked it. As others have said, it is hibachi like benihana. We found food to be above average and we enjoyed the show as well. Like most other TS places in WDW, price is also above average.

Its good. Not sure what Benihanas is but its like grilled steak and shrimp and pricey. So yes it is worth using a table service on. Very fun atmosphere and overall good time.. What else were you thinking of?? There are not many that are worth what they ask in price. Think about it there is probably no place where you are from that you would pay 30+ for a steak like Le Cellier. It looks to us like a waste of money for such small portions of steak for that p[rice. of course this is our opinion. You get alot mor food for your money at Teppon. JOHO.. Its a not miss for my hubby who likes meat.. 6'2 220 pounds but this is the only place in Disney he feels satisfied after eating..

Very generic and chain-restaurantish.

I wouldn't bother with it. If you're really looking for a meat-fest, I'd book a dinner at 'Ohana.

Thank you for the feed back - this is exactly what I was looking for. Since we are doing both Brown Derby and CRT, we are over our TS credits. As it stands, we will be having Kona for bfast, out of pocket, which is fine. But if we add Teppen Edo, then we will have to pay for something else out of pocket. I'm okay with that, but I just want to make sure that it is worth it.

My kids have asked to go back here every trip. The food was great. They have really yummy fruity drinks. The only possible minus is if you get a chef who isn't into showmanship, or you don't like sharing a table with strangers...or conversely, if you get stuck sharing a table with people who don't like dining with strangers.

Its a fun place with good food, but not worth paying out of pocket for. I'd try doing CS at multiple places and get a great variety through out the WS. Tacos, pizza, bratwurst, fish n chips. To us, thats the way to eat in WS.

I'm really torn on Teppan personally. It's kind of become a family tradition for us to go. How it started, I'm not sure, but if my mom is with us on the trip, we're going to Teppan.
It's good. But not great. There isn't anything WRONG with it, just very bland and generic hibatchi. I don't really care for Benihana for the same reasons. There are local places in my area that blow generic hibatchi out of the water. So maybe I'm a little spoiled.
Maybe your family should try it once, it really can't hurt. I'm sure the hubs would appreciate you letting him get one in haha. And then you can make your own decision on whether or not to return.

Its been a very long time sice we have been and the compnay we had with us is what left a bad taste in my mouth (my mom). I have heard if you want to go for lunch the best time is the first ADR of the day..noon i think. I heard they do a welcome show of some sort. Might be neat to check it out. I recall it only being compared to the local places. Dinsey was not as over the top with flying food and such...might have just been our chef  I think any place you are even thinking about is worth a try once.
