@TheOriginalTiki and team I have no interest in dropping out but I have been asleep or in urgent care all day due to sinusitis kicking my actual butt. I am hoping the meds kick in enough for me to participate more tomorrow and the rest of the prompt and am totally aware this might mean I get cut but I wanted to explain my absence and howuch I wanna continue.

That must suck. I hope you get well soon.

So here's what I'm thinking for the French names of all the rides in Duckberg:
La Bande à Picsou: Beagle Boys Prison Evasion- (Ducktales ride)

Le Train Intraitable De Mickey et Minnie (Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad)

Furiex Canard Coaster (Donald Duck Roller Coaster)

If anyone who has a better grasp at French has superior name suggestions or even has a good name for the Launchpad Dumbo clone that'd be great!

Those all look great to me!!

So instead of retheming Toon Studio to Toontown, I'm going to retheme it to Duckburg. The Animation building by itself seemed a bit small, so I incorporated the Cars flat ride space into the MMRR showbuilding, so I've decided to keep Magic Carpets and retheme it to a Launchpad flying ride.

I think it gives Studios Paris something unique (which has been a big problem with the upcoming expansions IMO) plus a perfect oppurtunity for a Ducktales dark ride!

I like the idea, but doesn’t that disobey the management rule about Mickey and Minnie being “non-existent” in Duckburg/DuckTales? There’s a reason why Mickey Melon (voiced by Chris D. instead of the official voice, Bret I.) was used instead.

In my opinion, I think a ToonTown retheme will be fine. Probably just create a DuckTales mini-area instead?

Cool to hear you like it. I'll look more into Discoveryland, and check out what things could be adjusted or enhanced with this makeover.

Meanwhile, as a replacement for Hyperspace Mountain, perhaps it could be revamped into something closer to the "From the Earth to the Moon" iteration of Space Mountain. Rather than just completely pull back to the original, perhaps we could try something with the Melies idea, with guests stepping into the world of his work.
Yes, bring back the Moon! The fans will go crazy if this actually happens for Paris' 30th.

Yeah, Toontown would be good. I'll keep the current ride line up, but it makes sense for the European version of Toontown to be more focused on the Ducks.

Recap for the day (a bit late oops):

We have agreed on the theme! The Story's Just Begun! It fits perfectly into WDSP with its newest expansions and with some specific focuses, ties into DLP beautifully.

Progress Updates:

  • @NigelChanning09 is working on the daytime parade for WDSP. This parade will focus more on Pixar, Marvel, and some of the newer movies
  • @goofyyukyukyuk17 is working on the nighttime parade for DLP. Suggestion was for this one to feature some of the older movies. (doesn't have to be exclusively older movies!)
  • @Sharon&Susan is working on the Toon Studio area to make it a more cohesive theme and fit Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway in there
  • @Outbound is working on a new version of the Play Disney app to unveil with the anniversary
  • @JokersWild and @DashHaber are working on the Discoveryland updates to fit the anniversary theme (JokersWild is also working on a song)
  • @montydysquith-navarro Is working on the lake show for WDSP. Alo offered to take the castle firework show!
  • Right now, I will work on short but sweet descriptions of both Avengers Campus and Frozen Land openings and how they fit the theme and then figure out a presentation style (open to suggestions as I have nothing right now)!

Other things that need to be worked on:

- Any additional streetmosphere
- New Food
- Anniversary Merch

Feel free to add more to what you are working on if you would like! We only have 3 days so it is definitely a sprint to the finish but I don't know a more capable team then all of you!

Hey would anyone want to help me with lyrics? I’m really not good at poetry, I’m trying, but it’ll probably go more quickly with someone helping me on that front haha.

Anyway, here’s some working music. It’s by no means finished and very much subject to change, but I’m kinda digging it. It might be a bit down, but I think a lot of the other celebration songs are as well (sentimental, rather.)

I like it! Though, Paris' anniversary songs are always very upbeat and energetic (see here, here, and here), so I think it would be interesting to change it up for the 30th. Also, to my untrained ear, it sounds very familiar to the current exit music after Illuminations (this one).

I’ve never heard that song, haha. I don’t hear the similarities personally, but it’s definitely in the same “genre” and definitely very close to what I was going for finally. I’ll keep working on it, but it’s a good starting point at least.

Don't forget the seasonal event aspect we asked for.

Here are some bullet-point details about the new nighttime show at WDSP for the 20th:
  • Basic Premise: "Take a flight on imagination with Mickey Mouse as he explores worlds of color and magic."
  • Story Elements: Happily Ever After (Story Structure), Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland (Selected Story Elements), World of Color (Selected Story Elements)
    • I know I said that I'm using World of Color: Celebrate! given the cinema aspect but I've yet to come across information that the "The Wonderful World of Disney" TV show in its original form (with Walt Disney) was even presented in Europe and actually generated Disney nostalgia in the area. Without it, the framing device from WoC:C! kinda falls flat. I still think a similar show would be great for the anniversary, but just not on the lake area.
    • I'm still working on the specific show scenes and its accompanying music. I'm not a musician by all means though, so bear with my music choices. Actually, I might need your help with this one, @JokersWild (just listening though).
  • Technical Details - a lot of the show elements will be on barges that can move on and off the lake through a by-pass near Arendelle and the East Lakeside Area (Still believing that it's the future home of Pandora: The World of Avatar)
    • 4 floating LED screens (similar to HarmonioUS) - Water screens don't really work in Paris for some reason (I think it might be due to the wind), so floating LED screens are the way to go. The "Magic Over Lake Disney" set this precedent last January for Frozen Celebration.
    • The giant LED Sorcerer's Hat from Tokyo DisneySea's Fantasmic - WDSP's equivalent of the Earth Globe from IllumiNations (RIP). The main story elements will be shown here, with the other 4 screens providing supplemental images (mainly because the lake is essentially a 360° outdoor theatre).
    • Colored water fountains and isopar flames on barges (IllumiNations; World of Color/Disney Dreams!/Disney Illuminations)
    • Silent fireworks (no big shells; French authorities only allow those kinds shot off twice a year: Bastille Day and New Years' Eve)
    • Lasers and LED moving lights (temporarily placed on towers surrounding the lake; this ain't World Showcase with fully constructed buildings on all sides!)

Let me know what exactly you need help with musically and I'll do my best to help. I'm pretty well versed in film scores, so I can definitely help you find some tracks.

That's awesome! I kinda have a setlist in mind as I work on the storyline segment by segment (slow progress tbh), but I'll present it once it's actually done.

Just a heads up for everyone: given that the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" hat is the central icon for this show, Fantasia (not Fantasmic!) will definitely be involved in some way.

Furiex Canard Coaster:
Donald Duck is looking for a way to solve his anger management issues, and Ludwig Von Drake has found a solution, the Temper Twirlers 2000! The technology is located at the Institute for Temper Tantrums is located at Runammuck Springs. The Institute is built on top of a cave system, the building itself is a futuristic mecca with satellites, computer tubes, and solar panels coming from every direction. Frequently the Temper Twirlers can be seen coming out of the caves along with a large succession of angry quacking.

Guests enter the ride at ground level and make their way to the outdoor queue located in the marble “Temple of the Mind”. A pre show video plays here Ludwig Von Drake explains the technology and gives safety instructions. Banners hang from the ceiling showing humorous awards the Institute has won. The indoor queue is a scientific laboratory full of all sorts of goofy inventions and wacky tidbits plastered on the wall. Guests board the Temper Twirlers and turn into what looks like a giant cannon.

The Temper Twirlers go up a lift hill and guests hear Donald Duck shouting “Get me outta here! I didn’t sign up for this!”. The Twirlers exit the lab as Donald Duck starts angrily quacking and the vehicles start spinning outdoors. After a short outdoor section, the vehicles re-enter the building. It’s a dark cave where all that guests can see are Donald’s eyes. Donald realizes that there's a string light switch above him. He turns the lights on briefly, but a lamp above him falls on his head! It becomes dark again and the Twirlers dive below.

Guests see stars and Donald can be heard mumbling. As the vehicles start to slow down again Donald and Daisy are seen on a dinner date where Daisy reminds him that he needs to be back to the USS Billfoot. The Twisters go up a nearby ship, where guests can hear coming from a nearby door an argument between the Navy captain and Donald about his lateness and his “attitude”. At the top Donald comes out of the ceiling (in animatronic form) steaming angry!

The vehicles enter the rollercoaster part of the ride where guests hear Donald angrily quacking and go through red tunnels representing Donalds rage all while spinning and of course plenty of twists, turns, and drops.

As the vehicles start to slow down, Ludwig asks Donald if he’s feeling any better, but Donald is still in a state of rage in a fighting stance. Ludwig thanks guests for their help and the Twirlers return back to the Institute for Temper Tantrums where guests exit.
