While I agree Sci Fi would be great I am a) not familiar with Metroid (apart from my sophomore year marching band field show, epic music) and b) i think it needs more small kid friendly options more.
Hard disagree about the park needing more kids options, but nonetheless. I don’t like Animal Crossing as an IP, but I really like Kirby, especially if we go with a handcrafted aesthetic, like you suggested.

I feel like Animal Crossing runs the same problems we had with Minecraft. Beautiful aesthetic and chill game but hard to turn into a land/ attraction

interactive dark ride with two sides, one for a bug-off, one for the fishing tourney. indoor wilderness explorer type activity with blathers and the museum. streetmosphere with K.K. Slider during the day and Celeste at night. Nooks cranny gift shop. Brewster themed QSR.

I get where your coming from but I actually have a few ideas I think make it work as a land.

I have been working on a project map!

For now, I just retextured/touched up the four surviving lands. Once the three lands are finished I will add them into the design to create a complete park map!

I really wish that Banjo-Kazooie was still popular. That would be a fantastic IP to work with.
It's honestly still surprising that Microsoft's done nothing with the IP for 12 years other than silence it out to Nintendo and repackage the mainline games. BK would be a great Xbox Series X alternative to the new Ratchet and Clank and rumored 3D Mario collection.

You'd think that something would be in the works after the response that Banjo in Smash got, but nothing yet. Hopefully someday.

I just wanted to post this publicly so we're all on the same page. Here is my plot proposal for D.C. It takes up the plot that is currently Marvel, as well as the amphitheater between Marvel and Toon Lagoon. Intention is still to have the land be made up of Gotham City and the Hall of Justice.

Proposed Plot:

Now that we've settled on Nintendo being one of the islands, here comes the hard part: deciding which franchise to spotlight. Nintendo has so many great franchises, with just a few of them including:

  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Kirby
  • Animal Crossing
  • Splatoon
  • Metroid
  • Star Fox
  • Pokemon
  • Earthbound
We could choose to focus on one specific franchise and create an immersive world with that core theme, or perhaps we could base the island in a way around Smash Bros., pulling influences from across different franchises.

I think if the IP selection and transitions to and from each zone and the land itself (assuming we're getting Seuss Landing, so from Port of Entry and to the Lost Continent) are done right, a Smash Bros approach could work.

To be fair, IoA isn’t terribly known for its transitions. Hogsmeade does hard cut to Jurassic Park after all.

Unless we want to try to give the park a more consistent flow, which I’m all for.
