wait...what animated Cats movie from 2020?

From what I can gather, Cats (2020) is the latest abomination 2020 has gifted us with, because apparently the preshow of December 2019 was not enough. Cats (2020) is a ripoff of The Secret Life of Pets (2016), which in it of itself is a ripoff of Toy Story (1995) which in it of itself is a ripoff of The Brave Little Toaster (1987). With bits of Mad Max Fury Road (2015) thrown in for good measure.

So while I still have to watch the movie, @JokersWild what are your thoughts for the "mockumentary"? My first thought was another video, but those are hard to make... it usually ends up being one editor cramming at the final project while the rest have to cram early to give the editor time. So instead, what if we made it a film script of a mockumentary?

I like that idea for spreading around the responsibilities a little bit better

Example:

INT. UNIVERSAL CREATIVE BOARD ROOM -- NIGHT

Many figures are crowding a table, arguing relentlessly. JOE NORMAL is away from the crowd, speaking directly to the camera.

JOE NORMAL
So we were just given the task of creating a theme park for Universal's Cats... not what I would have chosen but we'll make it work. We always make it work. Have you visited the Wizzarding World of Harry Potter?

(Pause, followed by inaudible background noise)

Oh, you have? Yeah it's really cool, isn't it? Really immersive. Well, we made it. So yeah I mean if we can do Harry Potter we can definitely work with Cats. Yeah...

If Joe Normal and Karen Intitolato aren't characters in this script, no one wins.

Also @TheOriginalTiki , I don't mean to take the presentation as a crutch for each round (with the exception of Kirby, I actually did just want to relax and more on a presentation for that one) but for the others, it's always been because I have an idea for how it will look and just want to pursue it.

I'll try to be less active in that department and be a bit more technical this time.

Don't worry, they're gonna be the Jim and Pam of the story... just as @Pi on my Cake dreamed!

Hey man, it's your play style. You OWN it. There's no shame in being compared to Basketbuddy. He's one of the greatest to ever play and the only two time winner thus far, and I said you have a MORE refined version of his game haha. I think Goofyyukyuk has played the better social game and Jokers has maybe been a bit more consistent on the writing and brainstorming side, but that's EXACTLY what makes this final three so perfect. All three people got here completely on their own merits in radically different play styles, so in that way it definitely feels like this final three was "meant to be" :)

I have every intention of actually making this. I have the camera, the editing software, and no life so I have no issues with trying to make this work. My plan was the start scripting once I get out of work (and watch the podcast) and hopefully be able to start shooting this weekend.

As it stands, we have two weeks to churn this out, so I don’t think it’s too infeasible to make this work.

I can work on presentation to that end, but I can do whatever else when it comes to the actual park (shudder.)

Maybe we can do it like half and half? Like film some segments and script the others? I really think it’s important for us to prioritize the project over the presentation and give the project itself as much time as necessary... that being said, I don’t have the same resources you do for that, so my contributions on the video end may not be as significant as yours haha, but I’m more than happy to give the majority of my effort on the project portion
