Considering we're building a ride themed to a pre-2000s cartoon for the 2020 audiences, may I suggest:
Ducktales.jpg

(I'm assuming this is allowed? If ever we agree to do this, we can focus more on the 1987 series than the 2017 reboot, although we can always use Easter eggs...)

Nick Gas was the best channel on tv!

I can be PM this round but realistically, I didn't watch a ton of cartoons as a kid (more a kids game show fan) so feel like someone else might be a better fit here!
If you wanna PM go for it, but if you'd feel more comfortable waiting for a prompt you're more familiar/passionate with, I was always big into cartoon growing up and could take this round. I'm cool wither way though.

I love me some Ducktales, but I think Tiki said the characters had to originate from the cartoon shows. I'm not sure if Scrooge and the nephews would count? But if we wanted something in the Duck family, Darkwing Duck should be fair game!

I’m on board for the GUMMI BEARS idea
One thing to be cautious with Gummi Bears, it probably is not something people are gonna be super familiar with. I suggested the idea, but most of my knowledge is foggy memories when I was young. I think it is still the idea I'm most into so far.

Alright, so I think I'm PM this round?

We don't have a ton of ideas, but we have some strong ones I think! I'm gonna go through and list any that I saw more than one person suggest or comment on and some of my first thoughts on it. If anyone has any other pitches, go for it!

  • Gummi Bears Motor Boat Cruise
    • An alternate universe history, built in Disneyland in 1991. Based on a very cheap and very temporary promotion disney did turned into a full scale, built from the ground up dark ride. Alternate universe and time period stuff can be really fun and give our project a unique spin. But the IP might not be well known for much of the team (It is on Disney+ though)
  • Darkwing Duck
    • Could fit nicely into toon town. An IP that has proven its popularity. Could bring both more Duck-Universe stuff to the parks as well as a lot of chances for fun super hero jokes.
  • Flintstones
    • One of the most iconic cartoons of all time with a really unique and interesting world. Plus, has been underrepresented in theme parks despite its iconic status. It has had a dark ride log flume built about it before, but not at any Disney or Universal parks or in a major American/UK park. So, most likely no where anyone on this forum is super experienced with beyond a few stray YouTube videos.
  • Animaniacs
    • Another incredibly iconic IP with a lot of potential for fantastic gags and comedy throughout. Would fit in wonderfully with a studio park. Could see it making a great replacement for Shrek 4D in Universal FL (which already has a good relationship with WB after Harry Potter). The new Hulu show being produced proves its relevance.
  • My vote would be on Chip n Dale rescue rangers, Rocket Power, or in a wildcard move old school my little pony.
  • Missed this while catching up on stuff. Love Rocket Power!
  • Rocket Power
    • A very dated yet very fun IP. Could be fun to intentionally go small with this. A dark ride built in the 90s by Universal as a cheap, quick cash grab to seem trendy and hip compared to Disney. Kind of do an intentional demake here. Make it "worse" to make it more interesting. Or just make a really cool Rocket Power dark ride. It is a fun IP.

I think all of these could be fun to do! While I like the Gummi Glen alternate universe idea, I think it could be putting extra constraints on us that we don’t particularly need so it’d be my lowest vote

That is a very good point. The more weird ideas we add the more we limit ourselves. That is important to keep in mind.

Honestly, would be happy with any of these. Flintstones and Darkwing Duck grab my interest the least I think despite being probably my two favorites from childhood on the list. But they'd both be good still. And I'm still open to other options if anyone has something to suggest!

Would love to hear both people votes and why they think we should go one direction over another. My goal is to have our IP chosen by the end of today if we can.

I feel that we opt to make a remake of the Gummi Bears, Flintstones, and Rocket Power rides, it might limit us creatively, especially when creating the show scenes and elements (since we would have to be cautious of not replicating what they did, even if it's an iconic part of the series). Then again, I'm not that familiar with our five choices unlike you guys since I grew up in the early 2000s and am more familiar with the cartoons of that time period (Fairly Odd Parents and Phineas and Ferb, anyone?). I've certainly heard of Darkwing Duck (courtesy of the new Ducktales; best plot twist ever, by the way), Flintstones (ish; If I recall correctly, my only exposure to them were the vitamins which is not much), and Animaniacs (again, ish) though, so I'm fine with any of those three.

To be honest, I’m only really voting for GUMMI BEARS as a small way to cope with that cheap overlay

Totally get that. Any thoughts about any rides other than gummi bears? Or on Ace's concerns with that being potentially limiting? I see Gummi Bears as our most high risk/high reward option. It would be very outside the box and unique, but it also is an IP no one really knows well and would set a lot of limits.

Darkwing Duck is probably the one people will be the most familiar with on the team. Plus, with it being a comedic super hero (a very common genre) everyone should be able to add to it even if they don't know a ton about the actual IP. Animaniacs was about chaotic cartoon characters living on a movie studio, so that is another that anyone with familiarity with the film industry could contribute on.

@gam3rprincess do you have any thoughts on what direction we should go?

I’d take the risk personally, though I also think that an Animaniacs ride would be really fun to work on

So, seems to be conflicting opinions right now. Animaniacs is looking like it might be our best option as far as something every could be on board with and no one seems to be against.

@gam3rprincess hasn't logged on yet though and I'd love to hear their thoughts.

@AceAstro if we did go with Gummi Bears, what could we do to help aleviate your concerns (I'm only like 80 percent sure I used "aleviate" correctly, but I used it right I'll look super smart!)? Any thoughts on Animaniacs as an option?

Those two seem to be our frontrunners right now and are the two I'd be most excited about personally.

I have two concerns with Gummi Bears:
1. The IP. I’m not super knowledgeable with the IP myself and I don’t know how the rest of you are about it. If I’m the only one, I can do presentation/ intro/ ride vehicle sort of stuff where IP knowledge isn’t as critical

2. The space. The attraction was put together weakly where it was because there wasn’t a ton of space elsewhere. The monorail/ PeopleMover tracks aren’t that high above them and they are encased by the Matterhorn, Autopia, submarine lagoon (albeit empty), and fantasyland walkway. There isn’t a ton of space to open that up to a bigger attraction in my opinion.

If both of these concerns can be alleviated in some sense, I’m all for it! I also think an Anomaniacs attraction (Warner Brothers Park?) could be a lot of fun to do as well!
