I think a lot of that Bald Mountain plan would sound better in the Sorcerer's Apprentice dark ride. Bald Mountain should be the domain of the sinister, especially if it's the headliner for a more villainous part of Fantasyland

I always just liked the idea of a dark turn to things. I think there could definitely be a sinister undertone to things in the ride, but I really like starting out kind of happy and then hitting you with a dark turn. Think the Willy Wonka boat ride or the Masquerade section in Phantom of the Opera.

Yeah, so, our stuff is due today. We're just posting what we have and working from there. It's too bad we didn't have enough time to complete the park. Oh well, such is life.

It’s A Small World

This Disney classic is back all new and improved. Situated amidst the whimsy and jovial atmosphere of Fantasyland, within the colorful and fantastic land of Fantasia Square, It’s A Small World is housed inside a ride building smack dab in the middle of the action. The exterior of the building is very colorful and looks like stereotypical castle walls, only the bricks are a bright teal, brilliant pink, and dazzling yellow. Heavy metal “flags” sit atop the wall, and a large sign over the entrance proclaims this to be the home of “It’s A Small World: The Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed!”.

The queue begins under this sign and moves through several winding rows, seperated by the typical chains and posts. Astute guests may glance up to see a ceiling painted with clouds in soft pastel colors that match the walls of the castle (teal, pink, yellow). Some of the clouds take on familiar shapes. Is that a teal cowboy hat? A yellow igloo? Pink shamrocks? Oh yes, and much more too. Guests might even spot a small cloud in the shape of Cinderella’s castle.

The queue continues down a ramp, and it is patterned exactly the same as It’s A Small World in the MK. The walls of this fantastic ride entry are made up of many different flags of various countries. Each flag is shown in a “hanging” position, so that the flags go up and down rather than side to side. The flags are also painted in black, white and grey, with no color. “Popping out” of these flags of colorful paintings of people from around the world, in bright color and detail. The boy from the Ireland flag is smiling and waving at the boy above him from Kenya. Two girls, one from Russia and one from France, are both sharing some colorful flowers. A girl from America is holding an apple and smiling. A boy from China is wearing a conical hat and traditional costume. There are many happy boys and girls joining together to distract guests from the grey flags.

Guests board boats and prepare to sail away on their wonderful worldly cruise.

Room 1: Exploration

The boats enter the World of Exploration room, the first one on our journey. As they sail slowly through the scene, they are greeted by several scenes:

A dancing pharaoh in front of the Pyramids (Egypt)
Several vikings in a rocking ship (Norway)
Several Europeans shaing hands with natives in a jungle
Native Americans and Pilgrims greeting each other at Plymouth Rock
One airplane soaring from one end of the room to the other
A man and several penguins standing near the pole on a giant ice area
Two men in diving suits swim near the exit of the room

Room 2: Innovation

Guests now transition to the World of Innovation, where the people of the world work together to invent and think. Scenes include:

Children playing around huge stacks of books around a printing press
Children around a large roman fountain
A carousel of automobiles
A panel of lightbulbs that changes from a sun into a smiley face and back
Children dressed in many different traditional costumes talk on phones together, the connecting cables creating arches above the boat
Several chinese children laugh as ‘fireworks’ burst against the wall of the room exit

Room 3: Imagination

Guests now enter the extremely colorful World of Imagination. This room showcases the imaginative talent of the world. Scenes include:

A row of children smiling and holding african masks to their faces.
A wall of classic european paintings
Replicas of famous greek architecture
Children playing various musical instruments and dancing
A TV playing classic disney cartoon clips
Flapping origami swans grace the ceiling, being ridden by several children
French children sing from the Eiffel tower.
Children fly kites over the room’s exit

Room 4: Generation

Guests now see the World of Generations. Here we see how people of various ages interact. Scenes include:

An elderly woman telling stories in front of a fire, with children on the floor listening
A mother and daughter tending a garden together
A father and son fishing
A mexican family holding a quincenera
Two old men playing dominos in a latin american setting
A whole family, 3 generations, working at herding animals on a plain

Room 5: Celebration

Guests enter the grand finale room, this one identical to the room in the MK where everyone is wearing white costumes. The people from various countries are celebrating together, and white fireworks can be seen on the ceiling.

Room 6: Goodbye

This room is a small room with an open book whose pages are fiber optic. The message displayed on the pages changes every five seconds to reveal a new way to say goodbye as well as the flag of the country whose saying is displayed. There are two books, one on each side of the boat. They are on opposing schedules, so that, overall, a new greeting is displayed every 2.5 seconds.

Guests exit the ride and walk up the ramp, leaving the building.
