Team Durango Brainstroming Thread - Project Two: The Golf War

I’m so confused haha! I completely thought we were making 3 courses ourselves lol
So the general idea is we’re designing a Disney Golf Complex between the three teams and each team has to come up with an individual 18-hole minigolf course that together fit the general theme of the complex.

So if we choose the Land, Sea, Sky theme, that’s the complex theme and each team designs one of the courses. The idea is for the complex to flow thematically with three different courses

Another thing to think about. All three teams are designing a course, and although we’re not all working together, to fit thematically I think each team should have a different course difficulty level. Most courses I play around me (our zoo has a course with two individual courses) have a hard and an easy course.

I think if we did this, it’d add more to all three projects. Like land could be the easy course, sea be the medium course, and sky being the hardest. It’d fit the idea of the round and also boost realism

I vote Sea for Durango

Voting is 75% in favor of Land/Sea/Space or Sky. And the pie chart above is with Tiki voting red. Overall, I think it is fair to say Land/Sea/Space or Sky is our general theme. Now the teams need to decide which category they want.

I like this idea a lot! Land is easiest, then Sea, then Sky.

Personally, I'm leaning in favor of us doing sea. I think there's lots of fun to be had, possibly starting in a coral reef and slowly heading deeper into the ocean as the holes progress. But sea is definitely the popular choice of the teams right now, so we will have to see what happens. Even if it's not popular, I still think land has a lot of opportunities (jungles, deserts, mountains...) so I wouldn't have much issue taking any of them.

Alright team...

To be honest, I am very confused with this project. A golf course seems easy enough, but communicating with three different threads (and so many players!) sure isn't. We have three days left and I can't' see everyone getting on the same page in time. I may have to put the foot down.

Right now, it looks like Orbis is leaning to Sky. Then Citra and us both seem to want Sea, but Citra has recently started talking about Land. Ideally, they'll jump aboard the mountain train and we go firmly sea... but if not, I will just pull an executive decision as a leader and offering Durango to Land outright. It's not what I want but we cannot waste any more precious time.

THE PLAN
One point I have been neglecting thus so far is a plan. Discounting theme we need to agree on roles I have split us into six equally sized "jobs" to be completed by Friday. Please sign up whichever you'd like most, even if you don't feel the most comfortable with something you will only improve through passion and trying.
  • Introduction and Conclusion Paragraphs --
  • Holes 1-6 -- @goofyyukyukyuk17
  • Holes 7-12 --
  • Holes 13-18 --
  • Concept Art --
  • Presentation -- @Outbound
Unclaimed
In Progress
Completed

Everyone must complete their assignment by Friday, 12:00 PM EST, or 9:00 AM, twelve hours before the deadline. My plan for the presentation is ambitious and I will need all the information complete to start working.

I had an idea for a storyline, if we go with sea (which it looks like we’re getting) so tell me what y’all think. If it works, I’ll take the opening and conclusion.

Sir Calvin Seawater was a prominent admiral in the British Royal Navy during a period in which much of the world remained undiscovered in the mid 1800s. One day was hired as a sailor to explore the entirety of the ocean and to map it out, taking a Series of passes through uncharted waters and discovering new islands and land masses. He set out from his lighthouse home to engage on his mission.

Seawater encountered a series of dangers along the way, including dangerous whirlpools, ravenous pirates, floating chunks of ice, sirens, and finally faced off against a massive kraken. However, despite his troubles, Seawater returned home, having mapped out the entire ocean and wrote all of his travels down in his novel “Dangers of the High Seas”.

Each hole would be themed to a different danger he faced in his travels, so we can take inspiration from the ideas I threw out and add new ones for each hole. The first hole would be the lighthouse he lived at and the last hole would be a kraken animatronic, but other than that, we could take a ton of liberties and make a super cool ocean-themed course without IP.

Let me know what y’all think

Sorry for the lack of creative imput from my part. Must say that mini golf is really not my topic, but I'm willing to write up anything if theres still something left and we have some sort of direction that we want to go with it.
