Team Durango Brainstorming Thread - Project Four: Kungalooshing the Night Away

Yes. So I'm thinking, myself and @goofyyukyukyuk17 are going to the Opening Night of Disney's Enchanted Palace. We are giving a trip report for WDWMagic. If @PerGronStudio is active tomorrow and Friday he can also come. We can alternate describing the events of the night in hourly segments. So for instance

  • Initial Post Starting the Thread -- Contains the Bob Chapek Letter, Concept Art, Description of the Rooms, and Brief Explanations of the Major Characters
  • Then I post as a Disney Blogger describing 8:00-9:00 at Disney's Enchanted Palace. After describing the opening ceremony in detail, we watch Koro's Music Band kick off the night with a blast. At 8:20 (when Koro's Band stops playing) we watch Prince Clayton's rendition of his father's conquest, which gives us an organic exploration of past events in the story. Instead of going to the ballroom dance tutorial, we follow Clayton down the Wine Cellar, get a drink from the menu, and listen to some stories and uncover some secrets. We then decide to open our app and find Princess Lyla needs our help in the library, so we start uncovering some riddles, but @goofyyukyukyuk17 would prefer to watch the puppet show so we split up.
  • Now Goofy describes the events of 9:00-10:00. Goofy describes the puppet show which explains the Covorn's backstory. Then Goofy watches the end of the cards tournament, getting a chance to introduce us to Prince Andin, Sir Charlie, and Lady Ira. Keeping this more vague so you can focus on whatever you'd like in the timeslot. Meets back up with @Outbound for the Melee Tourney and it is described in full.
  • Now I describe 10:00-11:00 (or PerGron or ThatGuy if you are available, if not it's cool). We listen to Harland's music for a while, discovering his backstory and witnessing a fight with his father. Then there is an impassioned speech for feminism. We miss the Astronomy Tower but that's okay, it just shows how much there is to do. We focus back on solving some riddles, getting drinks, and watching a silly ventriloquist show.
  • Now Goofy describes 11:00-12:00. We head back to the Wine Cellar and see Prince Clayton is still bitter about his defeat, we then follow him up and witness the big argument. We watch the Court Jester, finish the riddles in time, and prepare for the Wedding. The finale is described in full. Then there is a short "overall, it was really cool" speech that finishes the presentation.
Btw, I think it would be really humorous if our descriptions get progressively slurred to simulate getting drunker through the night.
I love this idea! To clarify, we're still including all the info in our doc right? Like our presentation is a combination trip report and press release or something like that?

Yep. Most of the doc will be in the first post, aside from the stuff that happens during the night. That will occur while explaining our trip report.

I thought it'd be cool to do some character designs for some of the major characters... this is King Henry... do you all think I should do more?

These look amazing! This is really coming together!

I have my beer and wine lists so tonight I’ll compile a menu for drinks, providing @ThatGuyFromFlorida has his non-alcoholic beverages ready. I’ll also throw in a few small plates to nibble on and fully flesh out the menu. It’s not important to the project, but with a project as detailed as ours, might as well right?

Alright so the jobs list as it stands: as normal green is complete, yellow is wip on the doc, and red is incomplete.
Team, we’ve been working great so far. We have two full days to finish this up, and I think the hardest part is behind us! Remember to use the doc so everyone knows our progress and can suggest fixes in real time. Overall we got this!

I’m working on my parts of the presentation in another doc, I’ll copy and past by tonight hopefully and we can add in transitions between my parts and Outbound’s. I agree, this project is really looking amazing!

I made the Across the Sea. It’s very sweet, but tasty! Had to replace regular Malibu Rum with coconut since the store was out, but it suffices.
Also, DCL cup

Looks great!
@Outbound I’ll be able to finish my 11-12 post once I’ve seen the sort of puzzles you describe in 10-11.
Also, a couple questions for the group:
1. For the song, how would you pronounce Hugeon? I’ve been thinking it was pronounced huge un but I can think of a couple other pronunciations that make sense too.
2. I don’t think we’ve discussed it yet, but is entry ticketed? I know Pleasure Island was one ticket that granted access to all the bars there; I’m assuming a bar of this scale would have to be ticketed to be realistic.
3. If there’s no non-alcoholic drinks by tomorrow morning, @PerGronStudio , do you want to make some up or should I?

I can tackle the non-alcoholic drinks and wrap up the menu if @ThatGuyFromFlorida doesn’t get his up.

ThatGuy, what happened man? Are you good? Need anything? I thought we were working on the social game here and you’ve barely been present, and as the PM, I feel you should’ve been more present this round. Goofy and Outbound have pulled a lot of the legwork with me filling in where I can, but where DisneyLover and I weren’t as present this round, you should’ve been more present here, especially as leader.

If you need anything, let me know, but I just hope it doesn’t hurt our teamwork score

I've been calling it Hue-gin but whatever way works.

I'm assuming the entry is paid as well. Maybe upon exit (before midnight), you can get a stamp that grants you re-entry at any point later said night (so you don't need to go through the induction ceremony again).
