Got a crazy idea, not sure if it can work. But hear me out. I’m imagining some sort of hang-glider connected to a zipline to work as a suspended dark ride system, we can find ways to make it safer. And it departs from the Christ the Redeemer statue in Río de Janeiro. This way it can be a safe and controlled tour through the most beautiful sights of Rio from the air. Please let me know if what I’m trying to say makes any sense

Makes total sense! Sounds super cool, you'd get to see the entire city from up there!

Fantastic job on the brainstorming front today team! We definitely have enough ideas to start voting, but we also have plenty of time. Let’s keep brainstorming possible settings and what unique ride systems we could make suited to that landmark.

Example: a Carrousel of Progress ride in Versailles or the Berlin Palace, a Model T slot car in Detroit the Motor City.

Once enough ideas have been pitched we can get to voting, but for now we can use our extra time to keep throwing out ideas and make sure we land on the perfect project.
I wouldn't make a Model T dark ride use slot car tech since that's a ride system where a huge part of it is speed that would be paired with a car that isn't.

I think making have a traditional single rail or trackless system would be a better fit for the old Model T.

Good point. I was thinking of the old timey car ride system used at Six Flags (at least in the past). Most of those ride vehicles were modeled after Ford Model T's as well.

That sounds like a great ride system, I assume it was like this Antique Auto Ride at Knott's?

DAY ONE RECAP

One day's gone and four to go! Today we've brainstormed over 20 possible landmark locations for our project. They are, for recap:
  • Great Zimbabwe
  • Nan Madol
  • Chakoia Mounds
  • Walt Disney Family Museum Animatronic Show
  • WB Studios Simulator
  • Alcatraz Maze
  • Twilight Zone Effiel Tower of Terror
  • St. Peter's Square: Tales from the Crypt
  • Berlin Palace Carousel of Progress
  • Versailles Carousel of Progress
  • Ancient Egypt Royal Court Omnimover
  • Indianapolis 500 Thrill Ride
  • Motor City Slot Car Attraction
  • Motor City Auto Ride Attraction
  • Gettysburg Dark Ride
  • Mount Fuji
  • Tokyo Tower
  • Balboa Park Zoo Chase
  • Corn Palace Country Bears Style Show
  • Rio Zipline
  • Edmund Fitzgerald POTC Style Ride
  • Alamo Theater Show
Great work again team for coming up with so many ideas in such little time!

Now we can vote for our favorite attraction ideas. If anyone has any last-minute ideas, feel free to share, but overall let's shift focus now towards voting/campaigning for added ideas rather than brainstorming new ones. Given there are so many options for voting, let's use a three-way ranked system. A first-place vote gives three points, a second-place vote gives two points, and a third-place vote gives one point. So for example, my vote is:
  1. Palace of Versailles Carousel of Progress: This and the Berlin Palace idea are very similar, so I'll group them together as one vote... choosing Versailles as it is more famous and accessible for the team. I think the CoP Theater method is a perfect blend of interesting history and on-ride entertainment. Serving as a visitor center to the palace, guests could learn the history of Versailles from its founding as a simple hunting lodge to housing multiple world-changing events in recent history.
  2. Alcatraz Maze: This hasn't been discussed much besides its first mention, but having been to Alcatraz myself I think a creepy maze is a perfect fit! Especially if it were themed to "escaping" the mysterious prison. Plus, we could design a scary, Halloween-season overlay alongside the regular creepy maze.
  3. Corn Palace Country Bears Style Show: This is too corny to ignore. Get it? I'll show myself out
This puts Versailles at 3 votes, Alcatraz at 2 votes, and the Corn Palace at 1. Below is a tracker of the current votes - I'll try to update this as a consensus is reached.

VOTING
  1. Versailles Carousel of Progress (8 votes)
  2. Model T Auto Ride (6 votes)
  3. Corn Palace Country Bears Style Show (6 votes)
  4. Walt Disney Family Museum Archive (5 votes)
  5. Alcatraz Maze (4 votes)
  6. Gettysburg Dark Ride (3 votes)
  7. Edmund Fitzgerald Water Ride (3 votes)
  8. WB Studio Simulator (1 vote)

Alright team, thanks for reading and let's get voting!

If Detroit wins, I have an idea for how the ride could go.

We could travel from the past following a path around and through the Metro area, entering from Lake Erie and then concluding at the modern day riverfront.

Scenes would include an introduction when Detroit is just a brand new port, followed by a discussion of our rich Native American history, then moving onto the industrial revolution and mentioning Detroit’s notoriety for having the first working telephone system and first stretch of paved highway, moving onto Henry Ford and the assembly line, and then into WWII and the Arsenal of Democracy, and then a look at Motown and the city’s many musical heroes. We’ll then discuss the tumultuous 60s and the various protests and riots that took place, briefly touch on Detroit’s downfall, rejoice at the excitement brought by the championship success of the Pistons and Red Wings in the 80s and 90s complete with models of the Palace of Auburn Hills and Joe Louis Arena, then transition into modern Detroit, the future of the automobile, and conclude with a look at the city from the river with people all around enjoying the city at the holidays.
