Of course, Meg would say something like "I AM THE BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB CAUSE I CAN SEE CINDERELLA'S CASTLE FROM MY HOUSE."

(spelled it Cinderella's Castle on purpose)... :)

Reporter: "What rides in Disney World would be your favorites?"

TDO: "Umm... well... I guess you could say all of them."

Reporter: "But if you had to pick just one or two, which would you say you are giving the most attention to?"

TDO: "I... uh... you know there's just so many..."

What is funny is that Cynthia Harriss said just about that same thing during an interview when she was the Disneyland President in July, 2000. Here's the text from that interview on LaughingPlace, and the politically correct and empty answers Cynthia gave that basically showed she had no attachment to anything and was just trying to sound involved....

LP: A couple of easy questions. What is your favorite attraction at Disneyland?

Cynthia Harriss: This is hard because I know you have fans for every single one of them. Whatever one I’m going to say somebody is going to love it and somebody is going to go "darn it." I think I’m with a lot of the guests in saying that I’d have to say Pirates is one of my favorites. Just the fact that it has such a great story and such a great history, everything about it. And it’s amazing that it has been here this long and it still has as big of an "oooh" and an "ahhh," I think, as probably it did the first day it opened and even in a more contemporary way. So, that’s one of them. But I have to be diplomatic and say I could also say Indiana Jones, and a few others too.

LP: Do you have a favorite place at Disneyland to kind of sit and just relax and take it all in?

Cynthia Harriss: Hmmm ... When I come to the park I like to do as much of a tour as I can. There are so many special places in it and they’re all different. That’s probably why you like to come and enjoy the park. Because I think what’s so special about Disneyland is you can go into any one of the lands and have a great time and it’s a very different experience. And I’m not trying to be just diplomatic, I think it’s good everywhere. I will say if you go right down Main Street you can kind of get the action and see what’s going on, people coming and going.

My God woman, just tell us your favorite ride and favorite spot in the park! These aren't hard questions!

The rest of the interview is here, and it's quite funny in retrospect now that we all know how poorly DCA turned out and what they have had to do to fix it during its first decade. http://www.laughingplace.com/News-PID501150-501154.asp

From what I know of Meg Crofton, she is cut directly from the same bolt of fabric that Cynthia Harriss was. Does Meg hug people alot? Cynthia was a hugger, and she was amazingly good at pretending to care. Smart folks saw right through her though as the phony that she was. She is not missed, except for the purely comedic aspect of her tenure.

Ugh, it sounds like she's reading from a press release. That woman truly was terrible... I especially hated her huge false smile in her pictures.

DoMs: "But they won't know how to run WDW! In Disneyland they can close rides for maintenance, here that ruins vacations!"
