I am a big fan of Phil Collin's music, that is why I hate "Tarzan Rocks". The way his music is butchered is sad. I have said it before and I will say it again, if it ever comes up, but Tarzan Rocks should be moved to the local Holiday Inn, because that is where this lounge act belongs. I just hope the Chinese will forgive us for foisting this on them.
I don't feel that Phil Collin's music was "butchered" when it was used in Tarzan. I think it made his music more "global" in a sense that it was used in Disney.

LOL! I really have no response for that. My star wars friend did give it his all. Doesn't mean much, but he gave it his all... LOL!
I should have expanded on which Star Wars friend - a bounty hunter of the female persuasion now a Power Ranger amongst other things.

I always found the FOTLK performers to be great. But their choreography is far simpler than the average dance position. Not only are they cheaper, but Equity will not allow them to have dancers on concrete. So anytime you see someone dancing on concrete (in a regular stage show/parade, I think those taped Xmas parades get special consideration), it's a parade dancer contract, with limited allowances on how much they are able to dance on that surface. While I applaud the attention to cast safety, it's also why you will see parade dancers from other Disney parks doing rings around WDW parade dancers (DL uses AGVA, a fairly worthless union (I'm a member so I can say that with confidence), and TDL has no union at all). A flip side to everything I guess.

i never knew that equity was in it that much with dancers. i always assumed equity covered streetmo and contracted performers like the statues and seperate acts. i never knew that dancers in beauty and the beast, tarzan and other shows like that were equity...

Ok the Tarzan show... well... Rocks! It's great! There's so much action. The acrobatics are amazing! And on rollerblades to top it all off! It was 2000 when I saw the show (I haven't seen it since because I haven't had the opportunity to make it back to Florida but I'm going in 2006!!). I'll be sad to see the show leave AK. It fitted it so well. If they tear it down, I hope that they put in a freaky ride, or at least something to top off Alien Encounters Disney used to have.

Always thought the show was pretty good, but won't miss it.

The rumors of closing always made sense to me as I think the high volume would really interfere with EE - both queue and on ride.

After closing, it would be the perfect time to brick off that whole side of AK, post CMs every 50 yards who could deny that DinoLand ever existed.

just saw the video, it looks like it was great. i could see the production, in that same style... doing a full broadway show, and being very successful.

i saw pics of king louie, who looked really cool, and the sets looked GREAT TOO!

i hope that no matter what show they decide to put there, that they enclose it, and add some AIR CONDITIONING :sohappy:

I say good riddance. I thought both the Disney movie Tarzan and the Tarzan Rocks show were really bad. Get something more entertaining in there than some show based on a lousy movie.
