Tangled Rock Work Taking Shape

Small World and Peter Pan too.
Peter Pan will be getting a make over with an all new interactive queue once the Tangled Bathrooms are done. This will allow them to shutdown the old bathrooms and expand the Peter Pan queue into that area. This should make it look really good.
Small World has been having work done on its facade on and off over the last year or so. It should go well with the rest of Old Fantasyland (Fantasyland Courtyard).

Forgot about the Peter Pan queue, hope that's cool. From what I understood, they were just doing touch up work on Small World, but I bet it's next. :)

Well, if small World keeps the jousting motif, it would fit okay in the castle courtyard (though next to the new Tangled area, who knows?) and I'm withholding judgement on Pan until we know what they do to its queue...just wondering how a sort of modern "symphony hall" will manage to seem like it fits...plus its Mickey/Donald based, where everything else (save IASW) in Fantasyland is based around a movie...

BGW does the landscaping... and nothing else. There's nothing to go to, get to, to do. Beautiful? Perhaps. Boring? Absolutely. Let me know when they build four theme parks, hire 60k employees and have over 500 rides shows and attractions. Then we'll talk.

1. Dont hate on BGW. It's one of the best parks in the world and they work hard to make it that way. So don't turn this into a Disney vs the world thing. Both Disney and BGW work hard to have a good product.

2. SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment is one of the most underrated companies in the world. All their parks are good and one can have an amazing experience there.

3. If you think BGW is boring, you've never ridden Aplengeist. Simple enough.

I hope they clean up the PP ride itself when it goes down for the new queue install!!!

I highly doubt the ride itself will go down for refurb while they do this. Considering the area being affected is not part of the current queue there is no reason to believe they would not continue operating while the additional queue space is under construction, unless the construction were to interfere with normal operation.

To me, I feel like once all is said and completely done, Philharmagic will seem the most "out of place" in New Fantasyland..I mean, it still makes sense as a "Fanstasyland" attraction, just that with everything being overhauled and thematically unified, it may feel misplaced....thoughts?

I got thinking about Mickey's Philharmagic and started looking at some photos. In doing so I couldn't help notice how much Mickey's Philharmagic looks like the concept art for Princess Fairytale Hall. The marquee signs for both seemed to look the same. The "banner-look" with the same style poles angeled into the ground in front. They kind of give that castle courtyard vendor/sales kiosk look. Obviously there are three min-lands in Fantasyland [Storybook Circus, the Castle Courtyard, and Fantasyland Forest (which as mini-areas of it's own within it)]. It seems that within the Castle Courtyard they are trying to tie the look of the courtyard together by modeling the Princess Fairytale Hall after the existing facade of Philharmagic. It should provide a nice look. I attached two photos below. Have a look...

Excellent! They do look a lot alike.
I get the draw for meet n greets, (not my thing-a 31 year old with no kids)but UGH- still cant believe such prime real estate is going entirely to one...

I think the concept is similar to how many of the facades in other locations are starting to look similar... keep it all kind of "themed" the same design wise. Not a huge fan but I get why I guess.

Just for fun I mashed up the overhead plan that we've seen, with the walkway mural.

They don't exactly line up, but they're close. I've dimmed out the old rendering below
so you can see where things are going to be adjusted a bit.

I was just listening to the Inside the Magic podcast and he pointed out something in the Chris Beatty chat that I didn't notice.

Jenn Fickley-Baker:
We've also received several questions about construction going on elsewhere in Fantasyland, in the area where the old Skyway attraction was. What can you tell us about this area?

Chris Beatty:
Not only have we looked at adding new guests experiences to the New Fantasyland, but we looked at opportunities to enhance guest comfort. Many of you are curious to know will there be a character meet-and-greet in this area, but at this moment there are no plans.

We have heard un-officially in the past that there would not be a M&G there but this goes further to confirming it. It's interesting to note that the podcast also claims that the chat confirmed that this will NOT be a Tangled themed area, although I see nothing in the chat that says that.

We've seen blueprints that indicate it will be a Tangled themed area.

Yep, I am fully aware of that, just thought it was odd the he said that on the podcast.
I can see two possible reasons for this:

1) They have no idea that the blueprints are public knowledge and so many folks have seen them so they think they are saving it as a surprise
2) The plans have changed and they are focusing their attention on the D-Zone concept and putting everything into that instead
