Take my own crown?

My DD is scheduled to visit the new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique location at Cinderella Castle in Sept.

Is the price for the coach pkg. still $35 since we booked it 3 months ago or has it gone up to $45 (I believe the prices were supposed to change some time in Sept.)? :veryconfu

Also, some people have said that the coach pkg. includes the tiara & some say that it does not (I guess it depends on the hairstyle).
I have a brand new Cinderella crown that I could take, but if the tiara is included, I don't know if I want to waste the space in our luggage.

Does anyone have any info. on the pricing or any advice on whether to take her own crown?

Thanks in advance!

It does depend on the hair style. My dd got the Diva Princess and it didn't include the crown. I paid extra for it. My oldest niece got the Classic Princess and it came with a crown. It's the style like Cinderella. I don't think the Pop Princess one comes with one either.

How big is the crown you have? The one we bought was rather small.

It's not as small as the tiara, but it would cover the top of my 5 yr. old DD's head.
My DD's hair is about shoulder length (was longer, but recently had an incident where one of my DS's decided to give her a trim) ...
Would you recommend the diva or the princess style for that length of hair? :veryconfu
I really appreciate your advice.

I'm glad you posted about this; I just found out about it and was so excited. I can't wait to take my 3 year old. I don't know that she'll have enough hair to do anything fancy, she actuall just got hair at 2 so it's pretty fine. Is the expensive package worth it? Is the costume that you get to keep nicer or is the same one they sell at Wal-Mart for $25? Are the photos worth is?

I'm not sure how they would do the Princess style but I'm sure it could be done. It all depends on what she likes. My dd loved the Diva from the minute she saw it. The larger crown might take away from the whole effect. I've seen those smaller crowns at Claire's and other stores like that. I'm sure it's cheaper there. If you have any more ?'s just ask!

You'd be surprised what they do with fine hair. They use so much gel and hairspray that my dd's stayed for 2 days. It would have stayed longer but she was ready for it to be washed out. I'm not sure about the costumes there. You could take one from home if you want and get the cheapest package. Depending on when you are going you could get one from the Disney Store on sale after Halloween (sometimes ours puts stuff 50% off the week of).

I honestly don't remember how long it took, but I think it was maybe 30 minutes or so. Her Fairy Godmother in Training will keep her entertained if she starts to get restless. I'm sure they are used to that. Some seemed faster than others.

My DD's appt. is scheduled for 9:30am (I think that's the 1st time available).
I am glad to hear that they will "make" the hair stay in place.
Like I said, my DD is 5 & she still has the fine hair.
I think I will take the advice about sticking w/ the tiara (the crown would probably be in the way).
The hairdo really will stay for 2 days!
WOW!
I have a Cinderella dress, but I don't want her to have to be uncomfortable wearing it all day (we'll save it for our dinner that evening), so I picked out a comfortable dress for her to wear to BBB.
I am planning to take photos myself.
Thanks for all the info.!

Yeah, the hair really stayed that long! I think her head actually started to itch from all the stuff in it. We took out the crown and clips (they were fancy bobby pins with Mickey heads) for her to sleep.

Oh and there was a Photo Pass Photographer taking pics while she was getting it done. They scanned my card. If you are getting the cd the pics will be on it.

Here's a pic of her right after it was done. We bought her a t-shirt that said Princess down it and a word for each letter. She didn't want one with a pic of the Princess (she was almost 9 and kind of outgrowing it a little). We got it at the store and she changed in the bathroom right before her appt.

I'm not sure if the dress ups that they use at BBB are the same as they sell in the other shops -- but there's a WORLD of difference between the ones that are sold in WDW and Walmart. We bought almost all the princess dress-ups available in 2003 and they are STILL holding up now. The only one that shows any wear is the Aurora dress and that's with the shoulder area being made of that filmy material. Keep in mind -- this is after three little girls wearing them day after day after day after.... well, you get the picture. The Walmart version that we bought fell apart after about 2 weeks. :lookaroun

Ok, I'm starting to think I may want to let 3 of my daughters get this done (the 1 yo can wait til another trip!). Can anyone give me more info - particularly the cheaper options (we gotta eat, ya know). Or maybe direct me to another thread.

Also, the pic looks as if she got her make-up done, too - did she?

Yes she did get makeup but it's very light colors. They get to keep it. Your 1 year old isn't old enough. They must be at least 3 years old.

Here's the link for it on All Ears. Scroll to the bottom for it. http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/dd_market.htm

Here's what I found on WDWMAGIC.COM:
26 April 2007: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Spreads Pixie Dust to Magic Kingdom

A second location of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Disney's "magical makeover" salon for young princesses and "cool dudes," opens in September at Walt Disney World Resort, taking up royal residence in Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom theme park.

Princesses can choose from three makeover packages -- the "Coach" makeover (hairstyle and shimmering makeup), the "Crown" makeover (hairstyle, nails and shimmering makeup) and the "Castle" makeover (hairstyle, nails, shimmering makeup, an imaging package and princess costume of their choice complete with crown, wand and shoes).

Within each makeover package, young princesses can choose from three different hairstyles -- the Disney Diva, the Pop Princess or the Fairytale Princess.

The Magic Kingdom salon will be open every day from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Children must be three years or older and theme park admission is required.

The first salon is located at Downtown Disney Marketplace, inside the World of Disney Princess Room.

Reservations are recommended, and can be made by calling 407/WDW-STYLE (407/939-7895) up to 180 days in advance.

I found this site after posting this thread:

I guess the Coach price will have changed by the time my DD goes in Sept. (we booked it about 3 months ago).
Hope this helps!
