Take a bag or not?

This might seem like a stupid question but in our party, everyone will be riding almost all the rides. We planning to bring a camera, batteries, cell phones and a sweatshirt for chilly nights. Is it worth it to bring a bag? if so should we just have one jumbo on or have everybody bring one? also, do you need to store bags in a locker(how much do they coast). I know you can bring bags on small rides like its a small world but do you need a locker for like rockin roller coaster? i also don't want to see something i want a picture of and then have to run back to the locker. are lockers one time use? So many questions any answers are appreciated.

We always bring one drawstring backback for the four of us (2 adults and 2 kids). We take turns carrying it. You can take it on ALL the rides - no restrictions. There's always a place to put it, and little danger of losing it on the ride. Many rides have little pockets or bins. Kali has a water-resistant section in the middle that does a pretty good job of keeping things dry (for the most part).

If you think you need more than one (you don't say how many of you there are or ages), then share as much as possible - it makes it easier. It's really a matter of personal preference how big the sacks are - I prefer not to bring anything bigger than a drawstring backpack.

If you bring a ton of stuff, you can rent a locker. One fee per day with unlimited in and out. They are cheap - I can't remember how much - like $5-10. I think it vary's with the park, and sometimes you get a discount. Some places may have two sizes. IIRC, they are all (or mostly) near the park entrance.

Thanks for your question....

If you do bring one bag for everyone that has everybody's sweatshirt in it... I'll pity the person of your party that has to lug it around the park.

A large bag might fit under your feet on RnRC.... but older rides like SM might not work so well. If you don't mind the fashion police... tie the overshirt around your waists. Or just go as a group and dump the shirts at a locker location, and use smaller individual bags for cameras and batteries. Small bags will go on any ride.

We brought a back pack everyday, to carry sweatshirts/jackets, camera and junk to go with it, water bottles, and my sons inhaler and mask. My husband mostly carried it and brought it on every attraction that we all went on together.

I bring a regular backpack with me to the parks every single day. I carry my camera, water, poncho, trader pins, and a sweatshirt depending on the season. I have brought my bag on every single ride in Disney as well. Sometimes it is a little bit of a squeeze (Space Mountain comes to mind), but otherwise it isn't a problem.

We are two adults and I thank the man up above for inventing man shorts with lots of pockets. My poor DH carries it all, from camera, to water bottle, to room key/park ticket even down to my lipstick... all in his shorts! We both like the feeling of being hands free. If we go down to Disney in the cooler months and need a jacket for the evening we will rent a locker.

There are usually 4 of us, myself, my wife and my 2 sons.

My wife has a medium sized camera case that has a few outer pockets that we use to hold our extras (batteries, sun screen, tissues, makeup, etc).

We each carry our own water bottle, cell phone and park tickets/room keys/fast passes and usually some cash.

If we are going to be in a park all day, we'll bring or wear the sweatshirts to the park and then stow them in a locker first thing. When the sun goes down, one of us will go to the locker to fetch them.

Amen to that!! Like you, we are two adults and we never have to go through baggage claim at the parks. It's definitely the way to go. And I need to enjoy it while I can considering I don't think it will be that way once we have kids . Less is definitely more.

I have a large shoulder bag that I carry with me and DS always carries a backpack. We have never had to use a locker. The backpack works great because you can hook the straps around your feet in the floor area of the rides. Space Mountain is a bit tight but it has always worked okay for us.

small backpack

We also carry either a small backpack or drawstring type (we are two adults) we also attach a couple carabiners to the backpack to hold things like our resort mug, and new purchases

Thanks to the person who invented cargo shorts, the husband carries the camera, my lipstick and his Burt's beeswax in his pockets. Although lately he has become rather fond of the drawstring backpack. He does not miss the camera bumping against his knee all day :ROFLOL:

I always carry a backpack into the parks. I actually feel naked without it.

Anyway, I have no difficulty with it on any rides, including Space Mountain.

I always wear cargo shorts so I have plenty of storage. I have a small point and shoot camera which fits just nice. I hate having to carry anything.

We almost always carry a pack, with no problems. We tend to go when its warmer, so no need for a sweatshirt or jackets. I put my foot thru a strap so no way to lose the pack, or on SM the straps thru the "T" handle that holds you in. I'm a big guy and have no problem getting it in the ride with me, its a process that works for our family.

I've carried a backpack every trip I remember. When I was little I'd have a pack (hey it was the 90s) then a cute backpack to carry my camera, autograph book and water. Since the kids will be 10 and 13 maybe you can find a small backpack so they can carry their own things.

If you plan on taking jackets then maybe you should get a locker because that would require a larger bag. I only take a jacket when its a little cool when I leave because it doesn't fit in my bag. But I do have a small umbrella that fits and is always in there.

As others have said you don't have to put your bag in a locker for any ride (I was shocked at Universal when I had to put my tiny wristlet in one). I always put the straps on my leg so my hands are free. On RnRC my bag fits in the pouch but i'm always afraid it will fly out (I know with the G force it won't but I'm scared) so I keep my foot on it.
