Comes down to if you prefer to walk around with the iPad.
Or maybe someone did not buy an iPhone (who knows why) but did buy an iPad. They discovered all of the great apps such as iMovie. In iMovie for iPad you must shoot your footage on the device. You can not import it. That would be a reason to carry it around the parks.
