Trying to make reservations in september.....and its telling me there is no table available every night we are there (11th-18th)

is that normal? is this place THAT busy? Would we still be able to go wait without a reservation? if so how long is the wait usually in september (notorious slow period for parks)

3 adults, 1 child (2)

Thank you!

I don't know about reservations but when my wife and I went last September we arrived at DTD and checked availability at T-Rex. Early in the evening they were swamped and there was no chance of getting in but the hostess told us to come back later in the evening and we'd be able to get a table because "it really slows down later". We wandered back after a couple of hours at Disney Quest and Flights of Wonder and got right in. Sure, we were there till after closing but we were able to walk around after our meal and see the dinosaurs in the restaraunt without interrupting other peoples meals. Food was great but PRICEY!! This may not work for you with a 2 year old but if you can't get a reservation, check with the hostess at T-Rex and they may be able to help. Have a great trip!

I've heard they don't book all their tables, they leave some open for walk ups.

Your best bet would be to try for a walk up on a weekday (weekends are always busy) and try before 5pm.

Keep in mind that the dinos may scare your 2 year old. My son would not eat and we ended up having to take his food to go, sit outside and let him eat.

We ate lunch on a Monday, and had little trouble getting in. We got on of those flashy vibrator things and my wife and son went into the gift shop to build his dinosaur and the buzzer went off not too long after they got done. I wouldn't imagine we waited much more than 20 minutes, if that.

wow really? We went last December and it was practically empty. We went around 4pm, so I was surprised. They didn't even have the back section open. Good luck, I hope you get in!

I don't have the phone number handy but I'd suggest calling T-Rex directly. You can prob'ly find the number via Landry's website. I've eaten there twice and although the food is good (yes, pricey but I'd do it again) and the theming pretty dang cool, I highly doubt it's really all booked up for the entire week. Both times I went before it was before the online ADR system and we had to call the restaurant.

A touch on a previous post, it can be a bit loud & overwhelming especially if you're parked right by a dino. Maybe bring ear plugs just in case the noise overwhelms the little one. Neither of my boys ever had serious issues with loud noises but when I was little loud things scared the bejeezus outta me. Heck, going to the races was horrible because whenever the cars passed by the grandstands I'd just about have a coronary thinking death was imminent...every lap! LOL! Earplugs made the experience doable. :animwink:

Before panicing... try this:

Get on the WDW res system, and check the entire MONTH at this restaurant. If you find that there are no available bookings for the entire month? Welcome to a bug in the online Res System - both Portabelo and Fulton's were hit by this last year. As I understand, TRex is also owned by Landry's.

There are two solutions if the online DB is again screwed up: 1) Wait - in about a month there will suddenly be a LOAD of available bookings, and 2) Contact Landry's directly (only if you really DO see "no reservations available" for a solid month around your visit). If you DO see this? Landry's will absolutely want to know about it (http://www.landrysrestaurants.com/pages/contact/pg_contact.htm)

your a life saver

i just called trex directly and made reservations for sept 15th !!! Iam so excited, as is my son and wife! I cant wait!!! 80 days till our trip!!!! Thanks for the help everyone! :sohappy:
