T-Rex thread

Do you mean that the McDonald's playing "it's the end of the world...." is not satisfying enough?

Imagineering at its best! :lookaroun
at least we have Donald's Breakfastosaurus...but not for much longer. Soon we'll have Goofy's Safarisaurus or something. Personally, I'd rather have Disney cut of ties w/ Mickey D's altogether so we can have Hannah Montana trying to sell us Subway FreshFit Meals in the parks.

I have eaten at the T-Rex several times here in Kansas. When it first opened there was always a line. Now a year later you can pretty much walk up and get seated right away. Even with summer and everything I just don't think that it is that busy. I did see that they are now hiring again. Don't know if they just need more people or if they are losing employees that they had. The food is just ok just like Rainforest but just different names for the food. I got a salad that was supposed to have blue cheese crumbles in it and could not even taste the blue cheese. I asked the server and he told me that it was just in the dressing, he didn't bother to see if he could make it better. I know that everyone is excited for T-Rex but you really aren't missing anything. I don't mean to sound negative but it just not that great. Sorry for the info.:veryconfu

I am much more excited about the building vs. the food. Food wise I really am not expecting more than RFC in a different wrapper.

The dinosaurs are cool that they have especially the one they have inside the restaurant. Outside they have a few and some mist going. Inside they do have a Build a Dino, fossil dig, and a mining section. The dig and the mining are two seperate prices so if you or your kids want to do them you have to pay for it. Even if you just want to go into the area with your children you have to pay which I think is ridiculous. Who is going to let there 2 to 3,4,5 year old play in the area by themselves? The cost is not that cheap either.

This may have been discussed before, but why aren't they building this dinosaur-themed restaurant in Dinoland?

The reason is that it will make more money being at DTD without people having to pay to get into the park just to eat there.

It stands to reason that if the one at DTD does well, a second would be built at AK.

and after that, Bongos Cuban Cafe comes to Camp Minnie-Mickey and Fulton's Crab House opens in Africa. I actually heard that the Virgin Megastore may close in DTD and subsequently move to Epcot where it will replace The Making of Me.

I don't really care when it opens I won't be going. Honestly I can't believe Disney has partnered with Fertida (the man that owns RFC and T-Rex). He got his start here in my home town and I think the general feeling towards the guy is negative. The critism starts with the way he treats his employs all the way up to him buying out, and then distroying beloved local restraunts.
I'm pretty sure that the local dislike for him is just that, local and won't really impact the resturants in Disney, but it's just one of those things that makes me want to ask Disney if they really care at all about quaility anymore.

Amazing... I just checked out the website (remarkably simalar to RFC's, btw) and the food really does sound just like RFC!

And this is supposed to be at DTD? Isn't that an awfully redundant resturant choice?

"What" ain't no country I ever heard of... Do they speak English in "What?"

Whooooaaaa...check out the big brains on Brad! That's right, the metric system...you a smart (expletive deleted).
Wooooooooosh........That was the sound of Universal's City Walk passing up DTD should this restaurant actually settle in on Disney grounds. Many out there may think Citywalk already has the upper leg, living in Orlando and going out frequently, I say.......Not even close.
