T in W card

I've often thought about getting a Tables in Wonderland card, seeing we are DVC and Annual Passholders, but have just never done it. If I understand it correctly, if I were to eat out a minimum of 4 times in a year with a $100 dining check each time for example, I would save $80 ($100 X 20% = $20 X 4 = $80). And the card would cost me $75, so I am ahead by $5 in that scenario. I know some posters have commented about the automatic 18% tip, but we usually pay about that anyway, and have never had bad enough service to not tip. I'm not sure if we would use any of the other perks or not, but as long as I go and take my family with me to dinner I think getting to $100 or more for a meal, like at Cape May is easily done. Anyone have any other comments before I make a final decision? Can it be purchased on site at the Parks? I read online about filing out an application and mailing it in, then 2 to 3 weeks wait time to receive it at your home address. Thanks all!

There's a number to call to order it. Sorry, I don't know what it is.

If you're an AP holder, DVC member or Florida Resident, it's a no-brainer.

That situation was fixed a few years ago. You can now get one at any guest services kiosk at any of the parks or DTD. No need to pre-order at all.

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback - it looks like I'll be buying Tables in Wonderland next time I go to Disneyworld!

On another note - we signed up last winter for the new Annual Passholder monthly billing program, and that has been a great perk, too!

The "other" benefit to TiW: It includes 20% off any alcoholic beverages at included restaurants/bars! :king:

Always ask if they take the card or not even if its not on the list. We have for the past few years used it at the Riverside Mill even though it isnt listed, this past July was the first time we were told it wasnt accecpted but it was at PoP when we tried. I really dont like the auto tip incorporation. I would much prefer to add my own. I usually do about 20%. They add the 18% so if I want to addd the extra 2% i feel it looks kinda cheap to leave a dollar or so on the table. So they are actually losi g out on me. Im also glad they changed it to TIW from the Dining Experience. That was too easily mixed up with the DDP.

It will work at all of the value resort food courts because there is no table service restaurant there. It is nice when I stay at the Values to be able to save a few bucks on breakfast every morning.

great card!!! as stated earlier, the more you use it the more it pays for itself. we find it is a big savings with over the year for our family of 4. there are also some QS at AK where is is used. so again, you have some great options from signatures on down!! if you go to WDW alot and eat out frequently when there, then i think you will see you will save money compared to a dining plan.

It also works at the POFQ food court because they don't have a sitdown restaurant.

Forgot about that one. I use it a lot there too since POFQ is my favorite.

Another nice perk to the TiW card is that you get free valet parking if you go to a deluxe resort to eat. All you have to do is show a receipt from one of the table service restaurants and give the guy a tip.

FYI, the exact break-even point (if buying TiW with an AP for $75) is $375 in meals at participating restaurants. A group of 4 can easily hit that in a single meal at a Signtaure restaurant. :)

Heck, if I'd upgraded to an AP on my last trip and then gotten TiW I would have made the break-even point on my 8-day trip just myself, nevermind my friends that were with me.

Good to know. I never bothered to calculate the break even point and just winged it. I know for a fact know I got my money's worth out of it. Last August alone I spent $150 in Le Cellier for 5 people, at least another $100 at Cape May Cafe, and $100ish at Garden Grill. That was just one trip and I made at least 2 more trips with that card. Oh and I know I used it to valet park at least twice. I think that covers about $12 each time.

Does anyone know if you can decrease the amount of tip? If I have terrible service, I don't feel that I should be forced to give that much tip. Has anyone tried decreasing the tip amount?

Yes, you can decrease the amount of the tip. Just contact a Manager at the restaruant.

Only once have we had really bad service that made us frustrated at paying the %18 automatically however, once your party gets over 5, the gratuity is added anyway so at least with our TiW card we are saving some money! I wish they would expand it to the fast food restaurants at Epcot - but that is just my wishful thinking!!

I've not heard about the annual billing program. What do you do for that?? Where do I go to find out about it?

You have to be a Florida resident to get the annual billing. If you are a Florida resident you pay a down payment equivalent to a one day ticket for each AP and the rest of your total is broken up into 12 equal payments.
