Hello Everyone,

Thank you once again for all your helpful advice to my previous post regarding the dining plan. I canceled it and will pay out of pocket. So now that I have restaurants chosen what delicious treats would you recommend throughout the parks to a six year old little monster who just adores chcoclate and ice cream.

Thank you in advance.

CRONUT!!!(not icey or chocolatey but delicious) Or dirt ice cream cups made my two very happy as did sundaes and ice cream sandwiches, mickey ears brownies and fudge. I've made a list of must trys to avoid snack credit wastage. Having seen photos of menus, it would seem the new inclusions to the snack credit items mean more bang for your buck. :hungry::hungry::hungry:

Specialty cupcakes, cronut, Norway school bread, anything from the Italy pavilion in Epcot, mickey ice cream sandwich, cinnamon roll at gastons tavern, zebra domes, dole whip and a few more...really depends on what his taste is but there are a ton to pick from wherever you go.

Out of the list listed, I highly recommend the cinnamon roll at Gastons Tavern (huge and the kids eyes always light up like a Christmas tree) any specialty cupcakes IE red velvet, peanut butter, or butterfinger cupcake from starring rolls at HS. Or go the simple route with some sweet yummy treats from the confectionery right on Main Street USA:)

Some great not so obvious sweet treats are the school bread and almond pretzels at Kringa Bakery at Norway, the sweet cream cheese pretzels at the Lunching Pad at Tomorrowland, funnel cakes at Sleepy Hollow at MK, and there's Kakigori in Japan which is like shaved ice with flavored syrups.

We did "Candy around the World" @ EPCOT a couple of times. A lot of fun with a dose of hyperactivity along the way. The kids had fun too. If your child has nut allergy, be very careful reading the ingredients for some chocolate bars. It may not be obvious.

I agree, we did that too. And some of the countries have small individually wrapped pieces so you can try more. :D

Thank you for all the suggestions my son is going to be bouncing off the walss with all the sweets avaailable to him. I am thinking of canceling some of the buffets reservations due to the fact he is not going to eat a lot of the food and just a waste of money.

If you want something less messy, try the chocoloate-covered popcorn they sell throughout the parks. I'v always been very pleased with how fresh this stuff is. It comes in a durable cellophane bag, so you can re-close it and save some for later if you can't finish it.

They also sell a variety bag with smaller bags of different kinds. It's not a terrible value, and these make good snacks for the airplane ride back too.

At animal kingdom you can even get some interesting African-flavored popcorns like harissa and ras al hanout, but these are probably too weird for your kids.

I fully endorse Sleepy Hollow's fruit & Nutella waffle. Also the Norway School Bread, just browse the bakery in France and pick just about anything like an eclair or their special of the day, and don't forget to stop in Germany's Karamel-kuche for some fresh caramel corn or sea salt dark chocolate!
