Survivor: China

Todd said he enjoys Survivor, and he has clearly studied jury speeches. He played a near flawless final Tribal Council. I think some of his scheming was a little convoluted, but I'm okay with him winning.

I knew right away at the final Immunity Challenge that Amanda was going to win for one main reason: she was the only one smart enough to wear a hat. The final immunities are always endurance challenges in the hot sun. The hat was key.

Probst did a good job at the reunion (as usual), except for the low-class question to Erik about his relationship with Jaime. I loved when he brought up the line about Courtney not wanting to lose to Denise. When it was clear Courtney had already apologized and Denise had forgiven her, Probst moved on. Heh.

Fans vs. Favorites? Interesting. Rumor mills have Courtney as the participant from China.

I agree; I didn't like the question to Erik about his virginity. Very tacky. I felt bad for Denise. She's from about 30 miles from where I live, so I was rooting for her. Although it was very classy of Burnett to give her 50K to "help get her life back on track"

I thought Todd's jury answers were rehearsed. But, they gave him the million, so kudos to him.

I'm not too psyched about the next season. "super-fans" vs. favorites? Ick.
I'm thinking it will be Todd from this seaon, but I'm hoping it's James. :D Then at least there will be some eye candy!

My guess for the next season is Frosty. Everyone else seemed too made up to have just finished shooting F v. F.

I guess I was wrong about Todd losing if he made the finals. I thought from the beginning that he had a good shot at winning, but I thought Courtney was going to sneak in--until Todd's tribal council. He definitely won it there.

Good for Burnett helping out Denise and good for James getting the $100K and for having an infectious good spirit throughout this game.

EDIT: And I agree that Jeff's question to Erik about his virginity was out of line. I loved Erik sharp "of course" answer back to him.

The seasons in my opinion keep getting worse but I still watch.
Can Jeff Probst please get some new lines!! Omg, I just cannot stand how he says the exact same thing every episode. I think they could do with a new host!

Of the three I was ok with Todd winning. I suppose I liked Amanda the most, I felt like she was a genuine person who really struggled with the lies she had to tell to get ahead. I get tired of the jury members complaining about liars. I am pretty sure all of them had to lie at least once in the game and it is after all a game. Gosh I hope it is not Courtney who is on the Fans vs. the Favorites. How is she a favorite???

I am excited for the next season. The All Stars seasons are always my favorites because you begin the show rooting for certain people, instead of having to get to know everyone before it gets interesting.

But please give Jeff some new lines. Please....

You mean these lines? :lookaroun

"Come on in, guys"
"Immunity, back up for grabs"
"Wanna know what you're playin' for?"
"Worth playin' for?"
"It is now, time to vote"
"The tribe has spoken"

:hammer:

James should have won the whole thing but he made a dumb mistake by not using the idols..I forgive his sexy self though..;)

I wanted Courtney to win but was glad Todd did over Amanda..she annoyed me.

I am excited about the fans vs favorites..seems like it will be great..

Jeff uses those lines over and over again because it works....it is part of the game and why change it if it is not broken..JMO...

Jaime annoyed me with her tribal council question..she tried to be all cool and cocky and it failed..She annoys me also ...:)

I've never been a big fan of Probst so maybe that is why it drives me nuts so much. I know what you mean though.

Me too!

 You're right, I just wish once he could say something other than "Immunity, back up for grabs!". For some reason that line really, really annoys me. And I generally like Probst!

James is soooo hot, and I gained a lot of respect for him at the last Tribal Council when he said, "I'm not a bitter Betty." If anyone had a reason to feel betrayed, it was him. Jaime made herself look very immature and vindictive, and she didn't even do a good job w/her questions. She was trying to much to be a hard a$$.

The most surprising thing about this season is that Denise made it to the Final Three!

She was truly the worst player of the season, making bad decisions and failing at challenges all the way through! Yet somehow She was able to hang in there!?!?!

Those women should have voted Todd out weeks ago when they had the chance. It was their own fault He was there to lose to in the end.

I'm not convinced that Todd's whole "Personal relationship / Strategic relationship" argument was all that truthful either.

John-Robert is still as annoying as all heck!
James will forever be known as the Survivor to lose the game while holding TWO immunity idols!

All in all, a decent season, with some great locale shots of China.

Regarding next season. Eh...another gimmick!

The only thing tjhat has me intrigued is that MICRONESIA just might be the place where MICRO BREWS were invented....or maybe it was MILK OF MICRONESIA????
Is Burnett running out of countries???

She only made it to the final four not final three.
And I liked Denise. Yes, she made some bad decisions, but I was hoping for her to get to the end. And I don't think anyone who makes it that far can be called a bad player. After all, they made it past all the other people who thought they were "good" players.
No matter how they went about it, they still made it that far.

Thanks for the correction!
I had trouble counting last night during the 3 hour Finale...or was it two?
:hammer:

In the history of Survivor players...Denise was a "bad" one!
I think we'll just have to disagree on Her!

Don't get me wrong, I did not think she was outstanding or anything. And I did not really like her for her gameplay. I just thought she was a kind person and I just was kind of rooting for her.
I always find in this show that anytime someone is for sure on the chopping block, I am secretly wishing that somehow someone switches and messes up the other people's plans. Even if I like those other people, I just seem to root for the underdog in most cases. And it's fun when people are so confident and get blindsided.

How could you forget our family favorite?

"Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes."

It works because it's Probst. He may repeat this because of rules in the game that specifically call for him to stay neutral, unbiased. He makes up for it in the reunion show where he shines. Besides, my wife says he's great eye candy. :animwink:
