Survivor: China

So far this season seems to be more of the same, I sure wish they would make an effort to change things up. Doing something different and fresh wouldnt hurt a bit for me.

I agree! It's not even really the events of the show I want changed, but it is Jeff Probst's speech I want changed!!
Omg if I have to hear, "Want to know what your playing for?" or "Immunity is back up for grabs!" one more time I might throw the TV out the window.
He says the exact same thing in the exact same tone every show.

How about "fire represents life"?

I used to really look forward to Survivor... now I just watch out of habit.
It's rather boring.

I agree, but I would like to see some parts of the game changed too. I just want them to try something a bit different, its just to cookie cutter. How about "survivor Animal Kingdom" now that I would watch. and at the end Probst would say "the mouse has spoken. Please bring me your dole whip.":hammer:

I wish they would put in the rule to keep the clothes on. I know in hand to hand battles there might be some clothes pulling but this is prime time TV. I know they block it out or cover it up but it is wrong for them to unclothed on propose. IMO. I have young DDs and although I teach them they don't need to see it on TV.

Courtney had a good point in Tribal Council last night about it all being about strength. Challenges involving strength are okay, but they need to be put into perspective. Perhaps more mental challenges, bring back the food contests, maybe something more skill-oriented. That poor girl has no chance with anything physical.

I agree. Right now is she makes it any farther, she will be squeaking by. No pun intended. They don't see her as a threat so she might make it a few more weeks.

I found it interesting that James was the only one who actually read up on how to survice in the wilderness. I thought that was pretty cool.

My thoughts so far:

Courtney - scary skinny, and we're barely nine days into it. She won't make it much further.

Jean-Robert - my pre-season pick for the winner. He's taking a lot of chances, which is interesting.

Jaime, Amanda - major eye candy.

The challenges have really gotten more and more violent the past few seasons. The pixelators have had to work double shifts!

Well, we're quite a few more weeks into this season, and ... it's not a great season. A few people have been blindsided with their boots, and that's been kinda cool, but for the most part the castaways are not all that interesting this year. We've had some examples of really poor game play:
1. Todd giving James the first hidden immunity idol, then telling him where the second one was. Giving two immunity idols to the most fit guy left is a good idea how?
2. James being too dim to know when to use the immunity idols. He had two, there were only a few tribal councils left before the idols could no longer be used, and he had a good chance of winning individual immunity. Doofus.

As we head into the final week of Survivor, I am left with the following questions:
1. Can Courtney lose any more weight and stay three-dimensional?
2. Will Todd's propensity for over-scheming finally get him the boot?
3. Will we ever get to see Amanda's butt unblurred?
4. Will I care who wins?

I've been really disappointed with how this season has gone. I'm still watching it, but I really couldn't give a hoot who wins. If I had to pick someone to root for, it would be Denise, b/c she's from 30 minutes from where I live. And she's been the least irritating of those still left.

What the heck is Pei Ghee still doing around?? I thought she'd be a pre-jury cut for sure.

Todd's paranoia and over-scheming are annoying.

Courtney's skin and bones look is icky.

I dunno. I agree w/GenerationX that it has not been a great season, at all.

1. :ROFLOL::ROFLOL:
2. If Todd makes the final two, he won't win.
3. :ROFLOL::ROFLOL: what is up with that? And her sister's butt was blurred too.
4.

If Amanda makes it to the finals, she won't win, especially if she boots off/blindsides Todd.

Just as long as Phee Gee and her annoying laugh/voice doesn't win, I'll be happy.

But, this season also gave (at least to me) the Best Survivor Moment Ever when Jamie tried to play her "immunity idol". I laughed so hard, I cried.

Todd said he enjoys Survivor, and he has clearly studied jury speeches. He played a near flawless final Tribal Council. I think some of his scheming was a little convoluted, but I'm okay with him winning.

I knew right away at the final Immunity Challenge that Amanda was going to win for one main reason: she was the only one smart enough to wear a hat. The final immunities are always endurance challenges in the hot sun. The hat was key.

Probst did a good job at the reunion (as usual), except for the low-class question to Erik about his relationship with Jaime. I loved when he brought up the line about Courtney not wanting to lose to Denise. When it was clear Courtney had already apologized and Denise had forgiven her, Probst moved on. Heh.

Fans vs. Favorites? Interesting. Rumor mills have Courtney as the participant from China.

A mediocre season, but a good ending. Probst is great at the reunion shows.

Courtney didn't look like she was just back from Micronesia. She looks like she's been enjoying home cookin' for a couple of months. I would think James would be the choice.

Do you think Survivor will be back for next year? With the writers strike still going on, I think they'll be back for seasons 17 and 18.
