Even without the Hantz family, this Blood vs. Water concept should be pretty interesting.
I don't know if there's any real info out there, but I can't think it means anything other than having family members playing the game together.

Family members AND returning players have been confirmed for Blood vs. Water...

That seems like a fun concept. "Blood vs Water" seems to me like the family members will be playing the returning players on opposite tribes. That'd certainly make for some excitement, especially come merge time. Will players swap their already established alliances to be with their families? Seems like it should be a fun season!

Realityblurred has released a list of returning cast members who will play with/battle against their family members in the Blood vs Water season. Some of these names could be backups or decoys, but the source considers this to be pretty certain. Also, the location will be back in the Philippines. Personally, I'm all for coastal locations. One of the many reasons I love Survivor is the scenery and natural surroundings, and ocean settings are always my favorite. Here's the list of returning players for next season. I left the text white in case anyone doesn't want to know, and would rather wait to find out when the show begins. These names haven't been officially announced by the producers, but still consider them to be MAJOR spoilers for next season: (Highlight to read below)

And another interesting tidbit in the Brandon Hantz saga. Jeff Probst now claims that Brandon "decided not to come" to Sunday's reunion show. This is completely contradictory to what Russell Hantz has tweeted, and what other contestants who were there and are familiar with the incident have said. So who knows what really happened? All we know is that Brandon was not there, and by sheer "coincidence", the non-jurors were not on stage during the reunion show. To me, I still suspect this was to cover up Brandon's absence. Here is what Probst had to say about Brandon, and the non-jurors being seated in the audience:

“Regarding Brandon, we had a conversation and everyone, including Brandon, felt this was the best decision. Regarding the jury, the main reason was staging. We were on a new stage this year and our design couldn’t accommodate the usual enormous amount of people we have at the reunion. But having done it once, we may do this same configuration again in the future. The truth is, it’s very difficult to manage 20 people in an interview situation, and the staging last night was much more manageable. The hardest part of all of this is that it is so disappointing to the non-jury. I completely empathize with them feeling left out. Like it or not, the priority is for us to produce the best reunion show we can. Quite often when someone is voted out early they just don’t have enough story to warrant a spot on the reunion show. It doesn’t mean they aren’t deserving people, they just didn’t get to play long enough.”

Despite what the actual reason was, it sounds like having the non-jurors in the audience may continue.

Having not looked at the returnees yet, I think there is going to be an over-expectation of returning players being willing to swap strictly for their family. They've played before and all know that, unless there's no other choice, you don't flip. I think, similar to Redemption Island and One World, it will a twist that proves to be a disappointing non-factor.
