Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs Favorites

So the don't make fun on my mom thing was kind of a joke about Cochran.

And I'd hate to be Brenda right now. Such a tough decision.

Brenda was screwed one way or another. That decision would have either made her get voted out right away because she's nice, and would win in the final 3. Or she wouldn't win in the final vote because she let everyone else hang on a line while she enjoyed everything for herself.

It's just sad that it has to happen like this, but I understand betrayal is a part of the game.

I actually kind of want Eddie to go all the way now, since they thought he'd be so easy to get rid of.

Absolutely PUSH !! Why the hell did she do this show.....TWICE !! Ugh she makes me sick. And while there's a little venom going, I just wanna barf every time they do the "loved one's" show. If you're gonna miss your family that much stay home. The people that make it seem like a party are ok, but the one's that have the break downs ? My tv was on mute the whole time Jeff was bringing 'em out.

Dawn certainly won't be getting Brenda's vote for the million if she makes the final Tribal Council. I understand why Brenda was so upset and I feel bad for her, but I also understand this is a game to Outplay, Outsmart, and Outlast. It's not a game to make buddy-buddy with everyone, and pat their backs all the way to the end. Though stabbing an ally the way Dawn stabbed Brenda tonight was pretty low, especially considering all Brenda has done for Dawn.

Overall they made a smart move by blindsiding Brenda tonight. As good of a player as she was, she certainly posed a huge threat if she made it to the end. I will certainly miss seeing her (and her gorgeous smile), but like Cochran's mother warned: She could've won it all.

Sad to see her go, but I understand why it had to be done. A necessary evil in the game of Survivor.

The teaser for Sunday seems to indicate that someone gets pulled from the game due to injury!
That is certainly what it looks like. My only guess as to who could leave this game so late due to a reason other than a Tribal Council vote, would be Sherri (didn't she have a wrapped leg due to an injury not too long ago?) or Erik hinting tonight he is getting burned out of the game. Though after seeing his brother & receiving a good meal, he might be stabilized. Dawn also shows signs of breaking mentally, and Cochran is prone to severe sunburn, so who knows? I hope it's nothing bad, but it certainly looked as if host Jeff was yanking someone from the game when he made those comments in the preview.

The shot of Probst saying the game had taken another big turn looked like it was shot with the night vision camera. The only reason he would show up at camp over night would be if something bad/unexpected were to happen.

It did look like there was an emergency since he was there at night, but for all we know it could be a new twist to the game. Definitely don't want it to be anything too serious, though.

WOW...HUGE blindside. But Brenda was the most dangerous to keep at that point. She didn't really upset anyone, was winning challenges(totally could have won that last one if she wanted to) and played very well.

I did feel bad for her during the post vote footage before going off the air...she was devastated.

At this point Dawn would be the one for Eddie and Sherri to take to the final 3. Nobody likes her and her theatrics. Her biotch side definitely showed when the loved ones were out on the boat and she wasn't. Cochrane should take Sherri and Dawn. He would destroy them both in a vote. Eddie would be a bit tougher to defeat since he has his boys and Andrea on the jury. Also the guy defied the odds. Sherri has done nothing and Dawn is evil. I'd be shocked if either one got any votes. Erik is the wildcard. No read on him and what the others think of him. He did flip flop a lot, but he can say it was "strategery". Playing both sides. He didn't really upset anyone and did win some challenges. I'm just not sure of how the perceive him. But he didn't go along with the 3 guys, so maybe Reynold and Malcolm wouldn't vote for him.

Watching Ponderosa, I can totally see them all rewarding Cochrane for his fabulous play so far and voting for him and not being whiners like the Russell Hantz jury was. They all seem to understand the game and how it is played and can appreciate the strategy side. Not to mention they all seem to like Cochrane too.

Re the families - I think many of you are discounting what these people are going through

1 - pick up and go to the other side of the world.. without anyone you know
2 - get thrown into a group of people.. without anyone you know.. and you only interact with those people
3 - you are completely isolated from EVERYTHING you know.. your home, your friends, your work, your routine - everything
4 - zero knowledge of what is happening outside the game, including your family, news, friends, etc
5 - being on edge on who you can trust, what's happening behind your back, etc

All of those things equate to psychological strain on a person - then throw on top of that the physical aspects of
1 - being out in the elements for weeks on end with little shelter
2 - being hungry for weeks on end
3 - having to physically and mentally compete time and time again while surviving all of the above

The family members appearing are such emotional swings for people because family represents the polar opposite of so many of the things above
- someone you know
- someone you can trust
- someone you can confide in
- information about the outside world
- familiarity
- no concern over backstabbing, etc
- someone who is fresh and strong you can lean on for just a short time

That's why it's such a rollercoaster for the players. Have none of you even been on travel for 1-2 weeks w/o any of your family and been happy to see them when you get home? It would be that 100x because of all the other psychological and physical strains.

Yep...these late in the game rewards always have this bring one other person or extra things attached. I mean they are in the stretch run, so you hope your ally wins it and brings you along. But don't ever have to make the decision. However, I do think I remember the one time they had the winner pick one person and then that person pick a 3rd. You know what is missing so far is the Car give away challenge. Someone always gets a new car out of it.

Still not sure if I'll be able to watch Sunday live or have to stay up half the night and watch it when everyone(read my dear wife) is sleeping. Terrible timing to have the finals on Mother's Day.
