You obviously haven't been in the real estate market in an area that is "hot" right now. I get calls every day by real estate agents looking for houses as they have more buyers than sellers, especially here in the Bay Area. They have the listing of the house due to the last time it was refinanced, so they have the ball park of how much the house is worth given the recent sales in the area. So they have buyers ready with money if I'm willing to sell, all I have to do is sign. All my neighbors are getting the same offers, again none are willing to sell.

Despite your claims of a mass exodus up here there are still more people coming in. This is because even though some long established companies are changing the address of their HQ, their workers are still here and are not requiring them to move. And are bringing more workers from all over to fill positions. Not only that but VCs are still funding new start-ups right here in the Bay Area. The Bay Area has had a house shortage for decades, and its not going to magically get resolved because "some" are leaving.
I too also get offers for my home as well. Sometimes a realtor will come to my door, but I usually get offers in the form of these postcard type “ads” in my mailbox. This recently happened, less than two weeks ago. My neighbors also get the same cards.

Today's end of year total for the USA is 352,210 deaths from, or with, Covid in calendar year 2020.
We're talking about preventing future deaths. Dining at Downtown Disney isn't closed because of the past deaths, but because of the deaths that will happen if cases continue to rise (currently one every 10 minutes in LA county). We have a new variant of covid in CA that may be 70% more transmissible. Hospitals are clearly overrun. And we just have to wait until the vaccine can be rolled out. This is a short term problem.

Your skepticism of the vaccine is interesting, as you've talked so much about science and data. Vaccines have double-blind trials specifically to look for side effects. Instead, you seen to trust random reports from cocktail parties.

I'm happy to criticize the pace of vaccine distribution and government policies, but your comments seem completely divorced from the current situation in Southern CA.

I wonder if someone whose been keeping more up to date on things could help me out here (sorry, don’t feel like scrolling through all the new pages of this topic).

My wife and I were thinking about popping into Downtown Disney today for a short bit of shopping and to grab a to-go bite to eat, is this currently possible? I know food places are to-go only right now in CA, but does that mean the eateries in DTD are outright closed or do they still offer to-go? Anyone have any information about what is or isn’t available? I know my wife would kill for a churro right about now.

Also, are the shops on Buena Vista street still open or did that get shut down, too?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!

Thank you! I just got done checking this out but didn’t see anything regarding information on stuff like, the churro stall. Since dining on property is forbidden, it’s probably safe for me to assume they’re simply closed.

So once everybody who wants the vaccine has received it, will y’all quit demanding lockdowns and mask requirements?
You mean stop following the advice of the best medical consensus that asks us to wear masks in almost all situations and to have lockdowns when there are spikes that are killing a lot of people and overwhelming hospitals?

Yes. Because when the situation warrants it, the best consensus medical recommendation will be to stop recommending lockdowns and masks.

Seriously, how hard is that to understand? No one want lockdowns and masks mandates for no good reason.

No food available to eat on-site. Must take and go out of DTD. Shops in DTD and BV street are open, no food available on BVS.

You do realize that for some folks, no explanations will ever do. You're just wasting your time.

I was at Downtown Disney yesterday for a couple hours. Waited to get into the parking lot at Downtown Disney and saw how long the line was to get in. I drove over to Gardenwalk and made the 10 minute walk. No line to get in. Paid $3 for two hours. Not bad.

Yeah its pretty clear where everyone stands on the Pandemic in CA. Better off to agree to disagree at this point than to continue the same debate over and over in multiple threads.

In a couple of months we'll likely be back to discussing plenty of Disneyland mumbo jumbo especially with the eventual opening of Avengers Campus and the reopening of Snow White and the reopening of the parks.

Except if everybody who wants the vaccine has received it, why would there be need for lockdowns and masks? Do vaccines not work?
