I know this Eisner character is evil, but what about Oprah? Ever since my wife started watching her I have had to do the dishes, cook my own food, and help with the kitty litter. I need help. Any guys out there know what to do in this situation? :zipit: I am losing control! I am fragile. I need help.

  Hey ladies! What do you think this is? A Diet Coke commercial? Holy cow! :hurl: Listen, I am sure that at a certain age you gals would be begging us to vaccum with our shirts ON!

And as far as 'men are sexy when doing chores'.... uh uh... nope... not falling for that one again!

I know my husband would agree with you  He says Oprah is a cult and sometimes I think there is some truth to that. He has an aunt that would buy a bag of dog p00p if Oprah told her to!

Ah ha! See. Oprah is a cult. And she uses that silly doctor (Phil) to get in our little minds and influence us to do silly things like "stop flirting with our wife's sister" and "stop buying comic books" and "it is ok your wife is 480 pounds" and "betting on mud wrestling is bad".... the list goes on and on.

On the flip side, I really like the things she does for those that are in need in our society. For that she is great. (Our wives are not in need! Leave them alone, Oprah!)

You could do what I do.

Just make sure whatever it is she wants you to do, do it.

BUT

Do it with such terrible incompetence, she never asks again.

 I think Oprah is responsible for waking up and empowering us ladies! *ducks* Oprah also made me realize it's OK to
a)Hide Don's clothes until I'M ready for him to get dressed
b)Hide Don's clothes until he's done his 'honeydoo' list
c)Hide Don's keys in his clothes, the ones he drops whereever, the clothes he will walk over searching for those same keys, and give me a front row seat so I can watch and clap when he picks the clothes up (and finds the keys)

Ok I said I would stay out of it, but here goes...

My husband is a better housekeeper than I am.
When we got married I couldn't cook, so he did all of the cooking.
He still likes to cook & has been know to spontaneously make dinner...Yes, WITHOUT being asked to. He makes breakfast every Sunday morning...unless he is working. He will do the dishes when the sink is full (no dishwasher).
His mom taught all four sons (no daughters) to cook, clean & do the laundry. They are all very good cooks. They willingly help out around the house and with the kids.

I didn't need Oprah..his mom brought him up right.

:D

(and yes, I do know how very lucky I am)

Ahhh, the brain washing of America. The Grand Ol Oprah has got it on us all. Not only has she got control over women, that corresponding control women have on us has made life, at times, miserable.

As for vacuuming shirtless, I may start after my wife does...CLOSE THE BLINDS :lookaroun .

The Man Show...our last bastion of defence. I may do more house work, if the trampoline scenes were on the big screen.

Just to attest to the method I espouse (no pun intended)...

This is a true story. The names of the guilty and innocent have been changed to "Me" and "My Wife" respectivly to protect no one in particular.

This morning my wife woke up complaining of a pain in her hip. (Someties her hip causes her pain due to an old injury suffered as a child).

I suggested that she try NOT to do anything today when I caught her trying to do some housework obviously in pain.

I also suggested that she should sit down with some coffee and let ME do the housework she wanted to do.

This is what happened:

My Wife: *stares incredulously at me*

Me: "I am serious, let me do whatever you wanted to get done, I'm not working today so why not? You can even direct me if you like."

My Wife: "NO!"

Me: "Come on, it'll be fun!"

My Wife: "Uh, I think I will just wait until I get better to do it."

Me: "No really, here I am doing it." *starts doing bachelor style cleaning*

My Wife: "STOP!!! I want it done right!"

Me: "Ok..." *sad look* "I just wanted to help... :("

My Wife: "I know :) I know :) I just want to do it myself, it's sweet for you to offer *kiss kiss* Why don't you go outside and go fishing? :)"

Me: "Oh, all right... you sure I can't help?"

My Wife: "NO! I mean , no, really, you go have fun, I 'll do it tomorrow."

God I love this woman.

So... am I bad? I bet Oprah would crucify me.

 That reminds of of Bill Engvall talking about Bachelors bathrooms, he said he can always tell a bachelors bathtub, cause there is stuff growing it it, but a wife wont let the bathroom get that way!

Wow, that is very lucky...

Around here, it's me who does it all (and by all I mean ALL --except for mow the grass in the summer. I do the house, the kids, the bills and checkbook, taxes, shopping, ect.).. And if by some chance I would like to go do something early one morning and not take the kids, well, HE"S sure not going to get up with them. In his opinion, they can make their own breakfast.
