(Information taken from internet.com discussion forums):

This spring guests visiting The Land at Epcot will find a new restaurant featuring flavors of the seasons of the year. Called Sunshine Seasons, the restaurant will be a new kind of quick-service operation with unique menu offerings and ingredients.

The restaurant will feature a central open, onstage kitchen so guests can see their selections being prepared. there will be four menu stations, each representing a season.

The Wood-Fired Grill (fall season) will feature grilled and rotisserie selections. The Soup and Salad Shop (spring) will offer freshly made soups and a selection of salads. The Asian Wok Shop (summer) will serve noodle bowls and stir fry. The Sandwich Shop (winter) will feature hearty sandwiches.

There will also be a bakery to satisfy the guest's sweet tooth.

An exact opening date has not been announced.

===

Observations

1. Sunshine Seasons is a very clever way to revive the "Sunshine Season Food Fair" title! Almost reminds me of the new Darden restaurant...

2. The theming (seasons) is also clever. It complements the new design for the balloons (each themed to a season)

3. The Land reopening is apparently being pushed back to April 26 (unconfirmed, but likely)

4. More Noodles?! :D

5. "Asian Wok Shop" sounds cheesy... and sandwiches for winter? Uhh.. okay? :D

Well this certainly sounds surprisingly good. We'll see how it all works out. And I also thought that they might be going a little Noodle crazy at WDW :) I have never eaten at the Lotus Blossom or Nine Dragons, but I wonder if there really is a need for 2 fast food and 1 full service Chineese eateries in Epcot? Maybe in the Land it will be a little different. And it looks like they are themeing this resturant similar to the new ballons. I'm glad to see that, but it looks like the theme of the pavilion might change more than I was thinking. Oh well, as long as it's good.

It's better than an Airport foodcourt theme... ;)

This spring, Guests can celebrate the seasons at the new Sunshine Seasons, a fast-paced, fast-casual restaurant at The Land at Epcot. Fast-casual dining is a hybrid concept offering the convenience of a quick-service stablishment with unique menu offerings and ingredients historically associated with more “casual” table-service operations. Chefs will cook the restaurant’s food in an open, onstage kitchen so Guests can see their selections being prepared. “The senses should love this area because there is
something for each sense to enjoy,” said Chef de Cuisine Mike Bersell. “Sunshine Seasons takes the open kitchen concept to a bigger level.”
Guests will order food from five different stations, and then take their selections to a centralized cashier area. The food stations, which will feature
video menu boards, will be themed to the different seasons of the year. The Wood-Fired Grill Shop will feature a wood-fired grill and rotisseries that produce items inspired by fall, with hearty, earthy flavors and unique presentations. Here, Guests will find ancho-rubbed beef with chimichurri sauce, Moroccan rotisserie chicken, grilled Atlantic salmon and more. At the Soup and Salad Shop, Guests will find unique soups and salads inspired by the abundance of growth and the celebration of springtime. Chefs will use the freshest of ingredients, utilizing fresh herbs and vegetables from The Land
greenhouse. The Asian Wok Shop will serve noodle bowls and stir fry inspired by the crisp and intriguing flavors of Asia. This area will feature a Mongolian
barbecue and wok station. The menu, inspired by summer, with a light, healthy and flavorful approach, will feature items such as Mongolian vegetable
beef stir fry, vegetarian noodle bowl with tofu and more. The Sandwich Shop will feature hearty sandwiches served on artisan breads that are inspired by
the great baking traditions of the winter months. Here, Guests will find a black forest ham and salami grinder, turkey muffuletta, grilled veggie Cuban sandwich and more. The area also will feature a Bakery serving muffins, bagels, croissants, danish, desserts, coffee and more. Each food station will offer vegetarian and children’s selections, as well as “grab ‘n’ go” items. “We’re committed to serving great food in a ‘fast-casual,’ friendly and
exciting atmosphere,” Mike said. “Our team is committed to providing undertstanding customer service and an extraordinary dining experience.”

It all sounds very interesting although a bit like the food court at the Pop Century Resort.
I was about to add that. It sounds like it will be good. I'll definitely miss my bbq pork sandwhich, though. :( That's the main reason I used to go to SSSFF. They had AMAZING ice cream as well!

Sounds like this will be extremely similar to the Pepper Market, which, depending on what they take, may be a good or bad thing.

I like the different food stands. That idea will never die.

However, if they bring in that stupid manditory tip, I'm going to be pretty disappointed.

Sounds cool. I liked the food fair, but this could end up much worse or much better than the food fair (I'm hoping it will be better). I like how the seasons will be themed to the balloons, and how the menu does actually have an influence from the season it is based on.

By the way, does anyone know if Garden Grill will be receiving any changes (such as its name or the food they serve)? My family loves the Garden Grill since the first time we went there in 1998.

No, really? I never would have guessed! lol
This kind of sounds like Cosmic Ray's. Doesn't it?

The concept does seem similar, but Cosmic Ray's only has three pods, and they aren't themed the same as Sunshine Season's.

Chicken, burgers, and soups and salads...the only thing they're missing is the bakery/sandwich station and the Asian wok.

Well, this actually sounds like it could be good. I'm liking the noodle shops that are cropping up across the property, but I love asian noodles, so there you go. I am interested in checking out the offerings for myself when The Land reopens. I will miss the SSFF, but this may turn out to be a worthy replacement.

I didn't see any mention of Ice Cream. On hot days (and even not so hot days) we always stopped at The Land for Ice Cream Sundaes. :slurp: We used to get those instead of eating a full lunch. We used to eat the Ice Cream and then go see Food Rocks to find out the proper way to eat. :)

THERE BETTER BE ICE CREAM OR SOMEONE IS GONNA PAY :)

Perhaps the winter section will serve soup as well as sandwiches. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes!
I would think so... After all, there is nothing like having a nice, warm bowl of soup on a cold winter day (although FL doesn't get very many of those). I would hope they would, becuase there isnt very many counter service places you can get soup. If they didn't serve soup, I can see why; portability. I hope they do, though!

I didn't think of that. I live in the Northeast so I should know, though. Hearty, warm soups (such as chicken and dumpling or chicken noodle) are great on cold winter days. Maybe, they'll change their minds and make winter into soups and sandwiches.
