Sunday Wand Photos and AKL DVC Renderings

Took a quick trip to Epcot Sunday and took some photos of the carnage. Not much has changed from previous photos I've seen. Also, on the way out of the World Showcase exit, there was a large tent for a DVC party the night before where they were drumming up business for the AKL. Photos of the posters are below.

A shot for all you Wand Lovers. You can still imagine that the wand is intact. :ROFLOL:

I hope the tall palm trees make their way back to the front of the SSE columns (the columns with the ugly brown stripes on them) just like the trees that were there in the 80's and 90's.

Looking at the concept art for the overall resort, does anyone else think that the pool location is kind of odd? With it being literally right next to the parking lot and all? :shrug:

If you look at the mock up drawing,(the one labeled Construction Phases) you can see where the E and the C from the wand are going....

Thanks for the update. Although, the map confuses me. It seems as though all of the original AKL is under construction, too? I knew they were turning some of those rooms into DVC rooms for the time being...but that map makes it seem like eventually all of the AKL rooms will be DVC or something...am I just reading it wrong?

goofyfan, I also thought the location of the pool was a bit strange. Oh well. They'll probably have something blocking the view, so I'm not too worried about that...but yeah...I'm not sure if any other resort has put a pool so close to a parking lot before.

Thanks a lot for these pics! Great job. I can't imagine how people are going to take all of those giant steel stars and other stuff down! And the DVC resorts just keep getting bigger and bigger...kinda wish we were members...

The AK Villas look awesome. Once I finally start making the kind of money in 4-5 years to afford this kind of thing, I might be tempted to go there... Or Contemporary, depending on how that turns out.

How many rooms will be left for the hotel? It looks like once all this is built, it's going to be like 75% DVC. Is the hotel really not filling enough rooms?
