Summer Nightastic 2011?

I loved Tapestry in both of its forms but what if instead of huge parade, what if they turned it more into a street party type thing in the area near the foutain. I guess the only issue with that would be that traffic issues. What they could do is make sure that they left the pathways to Future World east and west open so that people could get to world showcase that way. They could just keep the giant drum on the stage by the fountain and have small parade leading to the area and then turn in it a celebration. If they keep the Tapastry of Dreams, they could have people actually dressed in costumes as the Dream Seekers

What I would want them to see though would be doing Fantasmic every night as part of the promotion, if they don't want to run Fantasmic everynight, maybe they could look into installing the proper infrastructure to run DHS's parade at night since the BPB floats(now PPCTF floats) have nightime lighting on them and are ready to go. I know it wouldn't be as nice as Fantasmic but it'd be nice to have something at night at DHS, and I know the parade is probably A LOT cheaper to run than Fantasmic.

Great ideas, but why not both of those things?!

Block Party Bash and Pixar Play Parade were both designed to work as night parades, they have lighting effects installed on every unit, and they were both regularly scheduled nighttime showings at DCA from 2005-10.

Pixar Play Parade, in particular, has the full night effects designed into the floats. The Jack Jack flame effect in The Incredibles float looks much cooler at night than it does in the daylight. DCA runs Pixar Play Parade at night, even this past Christmas with World of Color going three times nightly. It's definitely a possibility for them for DHS this summer.

Here's a YouTube of what Pixar Play Parade looks like at night, before it morphs with Block Party Bash and becomes the Countdown To Fun parade at DHS. Lots of possibilities here for a night version! (Flaming Jack Jack shows up around 1:50 in this vid) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaN2Nd2EUew&feature=related

And Disneyland runs Fantasmic! twice nightly seven nights a week all summer long (and twice or thrice nightly again at Christmas and Easter, and off-season weekends, etc.), so there's really no good excuse why they couldn't do the same at DHS. Especially considering DHS has that custom built theater, where Disneyland's uses the space and vehicles of four daytime operating attractions (Mark Twain, Sailing Ship Columbia, Canoes, Tom Sawyer Island) to morph into two nightly shows in the byways of a busy theme park. DHS needs to step up and schedule two nightly shows seven days a week, at the very least in summer. There's just no good excuse I can think of to not do that.

Heck, if they did a night version of Countdown To Fun, plus a dance party with live bands and better go-go dancers in front of the hat, and ran Fantasmic! twice per night with a summer Tower of Terror overlay, DHS alone could be the Summer Nightastic! headquarters park for WDW. Tons and tons of possibilities here!

There is a good chance the promotion will return.

You can sure say that!
All the shows that were performed during "Summer Nightastic!" are still featured in the Hub as "Seasonal shows" (including my all-time favorite, SN fireworks show!) so, look for these (and maybe new additions) this year!

TP2000, I would love for both of those to happen but I'm just trying to keep my ideas realistic what with the current management at TDO. Although I still don't know what floats if any we'll get from PPP they all run at night and I've seen several videos. I agree with you 100%

Well, in a "pie-in-the-sky" world, I would love for WDW to bring in actual artists for the Sounds Like Summer concert series. Universal kicks their booty at bringing in big names and concerts for their summer promotion. Disney the last few years has been happy bringing in cover bands. Obviously, I really don't expect Disney to bring in Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, or Uncle Kracker like Universal, but I would even be happy with just the 80's artists and bands that they bring in for Food & Wine.

Each park should have something new for Summer Nighttastic. Here are my ideas...

Magic Kingdom: Summer Nighttastic Fireworks
DHS: Nighttime Pixar Play Parade, Rockin' Roller Coaster featuring Classic Rock aka Queen, AC/DC, Aerosmith and Bon Jovi.
Epcot: Journey Into Imagination Reimagined (I know, I can dream can't I?), Sounds Like Summer Concerts featuring actual artists.
Animal Kingdom: Dinosaur Reimagined aka return old effects, extended hours.

return old effects like the EXTREMELY complicated gliding pterodactyl? ~raises eyebrows~

Honestly, I understand the running carnotaurus is complicated, but they can't keep a pterodactyl running along a track?

THIS! I'd love to see Countdown To Extinction return if only for a short time!! Actually, I'd love to see them do anything at night with the Animal Kingdom.

If CtX returns, it should be permanently. That was a much better ride name (and a more intense ride with a much higher height requirement). No one even knows it's named after a movie anymore...and I haven't seen much demand for pulling Dinosaur out of the Disney Vault anytime soon.

Just a thought but is there any chance there might be additions to the MSEP like the Dumbo floats? The music already exists so nothing would have to be recorded. All they need is the floats!
