Ok, need to go politic with George at the Ice Cream Social. You know how it is, kissing hands and shaking babies. Plus, I want some ice cream. :slurp:

Have a good night everyone.

Hey y'all. Haven't caught up but hope everyone is doing well.

I'm all in a twist...trying to compose an e-mail to Newsweek but I'm so mad I can't write straight. Grrr. Our mortgage broker, as a gift (a thank- you- for -financing -a- gabillion -dollars- through- me gift) subscribed us about a year ago and I can barely stand to pick it up. I only read it in emergency situations and everytime I do I get extremely hostile.

Hi Susan - not much to say about the levy. People vote with their pocketbooks.

That is me also. After I seen what our district does when they add on to the schools.:brick: A classroom doesn't need to be twice as big. and a nurse doesn't need a whole classroom. I just got mad at some of the things I seen that yr.

Well, in our case, this isn't about building new buildings, just about keeping from going into the hole next school year. So, $70,000 of cuts will go into effect this school year, and next year....more staff cuts and potentially closing one of the elementary schools. People think by voting no, that will force the state to correct the school funding issue. Problem is, if what they are working on does correct things, it wouldn't go into effect until 2011. Four years of cuts, and that's assuming what they're doing in Columbus will be effective.
School districts have no choice right now, they haven't been given one by the state. It's a rock-and-a-hard-place situation.
