I don't know if I like ships. :lookaroun
Beaches are okay.
I like to eat and I like shows.
I don't know Bun. Don't try to figure me out!

Sigh... They're really wonderful things. Marc was sure he'd HATE cruising... now I've got him hooked. I dragged him kicking and screaming on one, and he's never looked back.

The food can be incredible. There's always something to do. And if you don't feel like it, you can always find something quiet to occupy your time. Like sitting on your balcony and watching the sun set over the deep blue endless sea...

If you are not sure about going on a cruise you may want to try a small short trip one that is out for a few days and back. That way you know if you really want to go for the big ones.

I don't know... that may seem like the way to go, but you won't be nearly as relaxed as if you did a full cruise. All that packing and unpacking, just to turn around and come home.

The food was the only thing that interested George, but even that wasn't enough to convince him.
I'm sure someday we'll give it a try, but not just yet.

But here's the thing. . .
I don't even want to do that!
It just doesn't interest me.

Sigh... :brick:

I think when Sprout is older, you should start your own travel agency! I'm thinking the only way I'll get a cruise is if we drive to Florida and cruise to the Bahamas. No planes for us.

Tons of cruises leave from FL!! Let me know what interests you and I'll find you a good deal!

Hi Jen!
I'd rather fly than cruise. :lookaroun

What?? You're insane! You're telling me that you'd rather be cooped up in a tin can in the sky with no leg room, next to a whiny baby and someone with a phlegm problem than sit and see this???

Then wait awhile, you may change your mind. I have know to people, one never wanted to go on a cruise then she ended up with a trip because her best friend's husband backed out at the last minute and they had her go with her friend. Now you can't get her off them. Her next one is one of those windjammer cruises where you are part of the crew, she can't wait.

My other friend, you couldn't get her off cruises. Bahamas, alaska, hawaii, europe. Now she has no desire to go on them. People change. You may not want to right now, but you may feel differently down the road.

anybody here?

I am, though I don't know how much longer. Getting sleepy.

I'd pretty much planned out our trip in April, then now I've got the chance to possibly do a cruise in Hawaii for basically the same price....

I know you aren't still on, but...how about that suitcase?:lookaroun

I really want to do a cruise someday (especially a Disney one). I would love to go for my college graduation, but I doubt that will ever happen.

My folks did an Alaskan cruise - flew up to British Columbia, then cruised up to Alaska. The only big vacation they've ever done, and they loved it. And the food was awesome!

Dot and Betty...I'm with you about cruises. I've never been interested. At some point, I may try one, but for now, there are other places I'd rather go and I'd rather get there by plane

My mom's doing Alaska next year. We were going to go, but we didn't think it would work out well with Sprout, logistically speaking.

I'm not a big fan of whining or phlegm, but still. . .

You still love me, don't you Bun? :lookaroun

Flying isn't so bad, but it's a method of traveling, not a destination.

In fact, there's going to be a few GREAT specials on cruising tonight on the travel channel if anyone's interested! That way it's no obligation - you're only watching TV, so no commitment involved! :p

Well, let's put it this way: 8 kids + cruise + a lot of money= I don't think so.

It doesn't have to be with them/paid for by them... there are a LOT of cheap options for cruises out there. Why, I'll bet I could find you a 3 night cruise for the price of a one night stay at the Contemporary!

Ooh, I am listening.:D
And you should, she is right, there are cruises out there that can go really cheap. Like when the took the Disney Magic (or the other one) thru the Panama Canal for the voyage from California, that was really cheap. Just you had to fly into Florida and out of California.

How's this:

A Royal Caribbean Cruise for 5 nights, leaving from Ft Lauderdale is $559. That includes ALL the food you can eat, and all the shipboard activities you could desire.

The cheapest room at the Contemporary is $259 according to Disney.com (without any kind of discount)

That's $259 x 5 nights= $1295 for 5 nights, without any food or park tickets.
